Gretchen Says Slade Made Her "Ugly Cry" on Her First Mother's Day: Here's Why
The RHOC alum received the most incredible gift for her first Mother's Day.
Slade Smiley made sure The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Gretchen Rossi had an extremely memorable first Mother’s Day, and he used his impressive creative skills to make it happen. Slade took their 10 month-old daughter, Skylar Gray, out to the garage at 6 a.m. to create an incredible gift for Gretchen, and it turned out fabulously.
In a May 12 Instagram post, Gretchen explained how much work Slade put into the thoughtful present. “I felt so loved and spoiled on my first Mother’s Day! Thank you Slade for literally make the most beautiful flower arrangements for me,” she wrote. “He is soo incredible and thoughtful! I mean what man does that?”
Gretchen also shared a series of Instagram Stories, which were videos that Slade took while he created the flower arrangements. He explained that he submerged the flowers in a clear glass vase with water, holding them down at the bottom with balloon weights which were cleverly disguised with some gorgeous marbles. Then, he created a few bouquets with fresh pink and white flowers to put on top of the submerged arrangements.
"Any guy can buy a bouquet of flowers, but it takes an extra special one to make one for his girl! This means soo much to me. He totally made me cry (but it's an ugly cry, so not posting that video)," Gretchen wrote in her Instagram Story.
In addition to Slade’s creation, Gretchen received lots of other flower bouquets, as well as some balloons and a custom serving tray filled with decadent desserts.
It sounds like Gretchen really enjoyed the holiday, as she wrote, “It was such a special 1st Mother’s Day with my little princess and the love of my life,” in a May 11 post. “I felt so loved by not only these two today but by so many friends and family.”
