Heather Dubrow Had the Most Genius DIY Solution to a Major Problem at Dubrow Chateau

We’ve all been there: You order something for your house, you’re SUPER excited about it, and then it arrives… and it’s not working. Maybe it’s broken, maybe you chose the wrong item, maybe it doesn’t look right in the room, or if you’re like Heather Dubrow, maybe you didn’t measure for it correctly.

That’s right: It turns out that The Real Housewives of Orange County mom-of-four does make a mistake every now and then, as we learned on her recent Heather’s Closet YouTube episode.

“This fabric curtain? Absolutely loved it, did a black-out lining on the back… and then realized they were too short,” she said, while giving a tour of the Dubrow Chateau family room. “Oopsies! As I’ve said, everything in this house, you bring it in here and then you realize, ‘I need something even larger.’ But I couldn’t find anything!”

So, what did Heather do? Well, you might assume she’d just buy a whole new roomful of curtains, but nope! Instead she opted for a DIY hack that is totally genius. Heather added a long line of decorative tape to the bottom of the curtains, and from there attached additional fabric, elongating them to the floor. The result is totally natural, and we may actually like the curtains even more after they got the Dubrow treatment. “Honestly, I love the effect, I think it’s amazing,” she said.
