The Dubrow Chateau Entryway Is Stunning (and Here’s What We’re Obsessed With)
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum is opening the doors to Dubrow Chateau and letting us all inside.
Can’t get enough of Dubrow Chateau? We hear you. Given that home and design is our jam — I mean, our site is literally named Home & Design! — Heather Dubrow’s 22,000-square-foot mansion is basically the gift that keeps on giving. With endless rooms to ogle and furnishings to scrutinize, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum’s home is a major source of inspo for all of us — which is why we’re super thrilled that she’s opened the doors once more and given us all a tour of her entryway (and a glimpse of that infamous etched glass window that her husband, Terry, wasn't feeling!) via her YouTube channel Heather’s Closet.
In this episode, Heather meticulously details her design choices for the front of her home, which she likens to a present. “Why is an entryway important?” she asked during the tour. “Well, basically, it’s like meeting someone for the first time. It’s your first impression of someone’s home. It’s almost like unwrapping a present and seeing what’s inside!” Want more? You’ll have to watch the above video for the full tour, but until then, here’s what we’re totally loving in Dubrow Chateau… so far!
The 10-Layer Chandelier
“One of the most incredible features of this entryway is this enormous chandelier that leads your eye up to the ceiling, which in my opinion, is truly the star of the entryway,” Heather said. Why is the 28-foot-high ceiling so special? Well, it’s comprised of nine glowing slabs of onyx — each of which weigh 300 pounds — that’s why!
The Rotating Flower Table
What greets Heather’s guests? An oversized square table with a gallery of rotating fresh floral arrangements. “I have this incredible table with fresh flowers and every week my florist brings me something new, something incredible, something with different levels and different colors and it’s always stunning,” she said. “This also happens to be the absolute best spot in the house to take a picture!”
The Floor Lighting
Terry was responsible for all the lighting in Dubrow Chateau… but unfortunately, he missed the mark in a few places! How so? Well, for one, he forgot to tell the contractors that he loves floor lighting. Luckily Heather was able to add some recessed lights to the floor in a hallway flanking the entryway. “I just think this is a very interesting, cool way to light up the art,” she said, and we couldn’t agree more.
The Etched Window
You might remember the backstory of Heather’s beloved concept of a tree etched into a window — Terry hated the idea, but Heather forged ahead nonetheless, and she couldn’t be happier with the outcome. “It turned out so spectacularly awesome, and by the way, [Terry] loves it!” Heather shared. “Not only is it gorgeous but it actually has very significant items hidden in the whole thing. First of all there’s four birds, one for each child.” Comprised of 24 glass panels encased in thin black framing, the floor-to-ceiling window also has a nest with two eggs (representing her frozen embryos), a tiny bee honoring her beloved grandmother Bea, and a heart etched into a branch with the letters T + H. Say it with us, folks: Awwww!
