Luann de Lesseps Explains Her Choice to Sell Her Circular Upstate Home
The RHONY cast member opened up about her decision, and revealed when she plans to return to her Upper West Side apartment.
Luann de Lesseps listed her stunning waterfront country home in upstate New York earlier this summer for $1.15 million. The Port Ewen spot is a 2,400 square-foot house with an incredibly unique circular floor plan and a private river dock, and although The Real Housewives of New York City cast member has previously mentioned that she’ll miss it dearly, she opened up about her choice to sell the property on the August 25 episode of Dear Media’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast.
“I just never get up there,” Luann explained. “And especially with what’s going on now, you know, my kids are in the Hamptons. So between the Hamptons and the city, my dance card is kind of full.”
Luann has been spending most of her time at her gorgeous home in the Hamptons lately, adding, “I’m very lucky to have a place by the beach and the Hamptons, so I prefer to be here, outdoors, and you know, doing stuff in the country and being with my children, and seeing close friends and keeping it tight.”
In fact, when Luann first purchased her Port Ewen home in 2018, being away from her children in the Hamptons was already a concern.
“It was a big hiccup about me wanting to get a house upstate and not being in the Hamptons, so I decided to keep the Hamptons home, and getting a house upstate in any case,” Luann told Andy on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Although Luann seems to be entirely content in her Hamptons home, she does plan to return to her Upper West Side apartment (which you can tour in the video above) some day soon, as she loves the culture of the city, including theater, live sports, and all of the “fabulous restaurants.”
“The city is a very special place. I always plan on being in the city, so I still have my apartment,” she said. “The city is great and it’ll come back and I’m looking forward to that day.”
