The New Jersey ’Wives Share Their Unfiltered Thoughts on Teresa’s “Shocking” Wedding Hair
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast have differing opinions about Teresa’s headline-making wedding hair.
When Teresa Giudice and Luis “Louie” Ruelas tied the knot on August 6 at the Park Château Estate & Gardens in East Brunswick, New Jersey, the ceremony was definitely one for the books. “I wanted it to be epic,” Teresa stated on The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Gets Married special, which aired on May 23. “I wanted it to be something that people wouldn’t forget.”
Another unforgettable moment from the larger-than-life nuptials? Teresa’s extravagant hairdo, which reportedly weighed three pounds. In the above video from The Real Housewives of New Jersey After Show, Teresa, Jennifer Aydin, Dolores Catania, Margaret Josephs, Rachel Fuda, Danielle Cabral, and Melissa Gorga, plus friends Jennifer Fessler and Jackie Goldschneider, dish about the headline-making hairdo, sharing the thoughts they had on the big day as well as afterward.
“When I went into the bridal suite, she had no mirror in front of her, and her stylist was just going to town… buildin’ it. I was like, ‘Where you goin’ with that hair, babe?!’” Jennifer Aydin shares about her initial impression. “I think by the time Teresa saw it, it was almost like a point of no return. I think there [were] like 10,000 bobby pins in that thing.”
Margaret also reflects on the over-the-top ’do: “That hair was big,” she quips. “She did look beautiful… but it was very big.”
“I thought maybe they messed up,” Jackie says, noting that the $10,000 price tag was “ridiculous” for her taste.
“It’s not really my style,” Rachel states, while Melissa concurs: “Not my thing, of course, but I thought it was very Teresa.” The mom of three goes on to add: “I’m not gonna lie, I was a little in shock when I saw the first picture, we can’t deny that. It was shocking.”
Not so shocking to the ladies was how Teresa — who notes the hairstyle “had to be somewhat dramatic” because of her show-stopping crown — handled the ordeal after seeing the finished product.
“I think that sometimes the people that work with Teresa overpower her and say, ‘No, this looks great, this looks great!’” Margaret divulges. “But I think Teresa could look at [this] and say, ‘Hey, that’s not me.’”
Jennifer Aydin, however, says she doesn’t think Teresa “really cared that much” either way. “Teresa’s the type that’s like, ‘Whatever!’”
All in all, the women knew the towering hair would forever be a notable part of Bravo history.
“I guess she got what she wanted out of it, you know… People were her for Halloween. It’s gonna go down in history,” Margaret shares. Jennifer Aydin then recalls the “iconic” moment when Kelly Ripa dressed up as the RHONJ OG for a segment that aired during Live with Kelly and Ryan’s annual Halloween special.
Jennifer Fessler also gushes: “It was fabulous. And Teresa is an icon. I mean, she cemented that sh-t!”
