We Have a Major Update on Sanya Richards-Ross’ Living Situation with Her Family
The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member and her family have figured out the next steps of their living arrangement.
There’s been a major change to Sanya Richards-Ross’ living situation.
As The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member explained on the show’s Season 15 premiere, her house has been “packed” with family members: “There’s my mom and my dad, me and my husband [Aaron Ross], there’s [our son] Deuce, there’s my sister Shari, her husband, Tyrell, and [their kids] Slade and Shiloh.”
During Season 16 Episode 5, Sanya shared one of the reasons she was happy to have her family living with her (watch the video above to see where everyone sleeps in the house). “I don’t want to be selfish, but I can be in Atlanta on Monday, and New York on Friday, and L.A. on Sunday, and knowing that my son is always at home, always has someone that’s family, that I know loves him so much, it works so well for me.”
However, her husband felt differently, telling Sanya, “It’s time to be on our own.”
Throughout the season, Sanya struggled to work through her family members’ differing feelings about their living arrangement and what it might mean if her family moved out.
“It’s just hard because I think just as my family dynamic is changing, I think I keep trying to hold on to this old dynamic that I have to figure out how to let go,” Sanya tearfully told her castmates during Episode 11 while opening up about recent tensions with her sister over the issue. “It hasn’t been easy for me to navigate it. But I think I have to just f-cking grow up.”
In conclusion, she stated, “I don’t think the dynamics of our family will change too much, but I do think we probably don’t need to be in the same house much longer.”
Is Sanya Richards-Ross’ family still living with her?
On the Season 15 finale of RHOA, which aired on August 27, an update at the end of the episode revealed, “Sanya’s family has finally moved out… but they live 10 minutes away.”
During Part 2 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 15 reunion, host Andy Cohen asked Sanya, "Do you regret how you handled telling your sister that it was time to move out?" However, Sanya explained, "I wouldn't say I regret it," and noted her family is actually "like five minutes away."
As Sanya showed BravoTV.com in the video above, when her family was living with her, they resided in the home’s beautifully furnished basement.
“I love this area, this space. My entire family lives here: my mom, my dad, my sister, my nephews,” she said. “My mom also decorated this space. You can see a lot of the Jamaican inspiration.”
“It’s just perfect,” she added. “We watch TV, [and] we chat until well beyond midnight.”
