Kandi Burruss “Might Become a Jersey Girl” After Staying in Todd’s Condo (UPDATED)

On the July 23 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Kandi Burruss shared more details on her newfound love for her husband Todd Tucker’s New Jersey condo. 

"By the way, I was so interested to find out — Kandi, tell everyone where you're staying while you're in New York City," Andy Cohen said, to which Kandi responded, "Well, I've been staying at the Jersey crib."

"Unbelievable," Andy said. "After all that."

Kandi went on to explain why she's "really liking" the condo after previously telling Todd she didn't want to spend time there. "Todd, he totally renovated, you know, remodeled and everything, and it's really nice," she said. "I've been hanging out there. I've got a new restaurant I like in the area, [Ventanas Restaurant and Lounge]. I went to SoJo, the spa, [and] loved it! So, I don't know, maybe I'm a Jersey girl now."

With a laugh, Andy quipped, "Housewives of Jersey, here she comes!"

Throughout Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss made her feelings about her husband Todd Tucker’s New Jersey condo very clear.

As Todd explained on Season 14 Episode 2, he purchased the apartment with an ex “many moons ago” and because he now owns it himself, he wanted to renovate it so that he, Kandi, and their kids could stay there during trips to New York. Todd noted that the property was also “something to leave [the] kids” one day, but Kandi initially had very little interest in spending time there. 

“It’s almost like him rewrapping a gift that he had [given] to an ex-girlfriend, and now I’m supposed to get excited about it,” she said in an episode interview. “Like, stop trying to force it so that we have to go and stay there.”

However, Todd did end up renovating the apartment last year, and it seems the improvements have given Kandi a change of heart.

In the caption of a July 6 Instagram post, Kandi shared, “I really enjoyed myself in NYC [and] NJ this past week. I might become a Jersey girl after all,” adding a crying-laughing emoji. When a commenter asked if she stayed at the condo, Kandi replied, “Yep.” After adding another laughing emoji, she shared, “He finished it. It’s really nice now.”

Todd also shared a glimpse of their family time in the Garden State via a June 28 Instagram video. In the clip, he sat with his and Kandi’s daughter, Blaze, on their newly redone rooftop patio. “Just chillin’ in Jersey,” he said. Directing the camera to the couple’s son, Ace, in a room just a few feet away, Todd continued, “Look who’s behind me in his little office, game room.”

The little ones seemed to be enjoying the New Jersey apartment, and as Kandi revealed last year, Todd’s daughter Kaela is also a fan of the home. With that in mind, it wouldn’t surprise the RHOA cast member if Kaela ended up keeping it one day. “[Kaela was] born in New York. She loves that place,” Kandi said on a May 2022 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “She’s been there before she ever met me, so, I mean, I know she would love it.”

Kandi’s daughter Riley doesn’t exactly share the sentiment. During the same WWHL episode, Andy said, “I mean, Riley might want [the apartment].” However, Riley shook her head with a laugh and quickly said, “No.”
