Carrie Underwood's Son Picked This Food as His Favorite "Toy" — But it Keeps Rotting
Mom Carrie Underwood had to toss the lot because, "they were getting funky."
Kids and their potatoes! After Meghan King Edmonds revealed that her toddler Aspen just loves playing with sweet potatoes, Carrie Underwood let loose with a similar confession. But first, some context.
Back in June, the crooner posted a snap of a rather adorable-looking vegetable. Showing a smiling potato just chilling in his doughnut-shaped inner tube, she explained: "This is what my kid has been playing with for the past 2 days. Yes, it’s a potato. Yes, he has other real toys. Yes, I know it’s weird."
Eh, weird is relative — especially when it comes to a three-and-a-half year old's behavior. Still, this is a photo you really have to see:
The potato came up again in conversation when Carrie spoke with radio-show host Bobby Bones on September 15. "[My son] had four [potatoes] that he would carry around everywhere,” she said. “I had to, one by one, throw them in the trash because they were getting funky. They were past cooking.”
But, that doesn't mean the spuds weren't well cared-for in their time. "One got a boo-boo. We had to put a Band-Aid on it, and it was just a thing,” she said.
Of course, the makers of Mr. Potato Head spotted the singer's post and attempted to lend a hand — such are the perks of celebrity — but that didn't turn out so well.
"The Mr. Potato Head company sent me some proper potatoes to play with,” Carrie added. “Of course, now I have Mr. Potato Head parts all over my house that aren’t with the potato so that’s fun to step on.”
#PotatoProblems — are we right, Carrie?
