Tamika Scott Says LaTocha Scott-Bivens "Stole" Her Gospel Deal
XSCAPE singer Tamika Scott repeatedly said on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live that she couldn’t defend her sister LaTocha’s actions
High notes and high drama have kept coming on SWV & XSCAPE: The Queens of R&B, airing Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
That’s probably par for the course as two popular girl groups, SWV and XSCAPE, have prepared for a joint concert — and dealt with their issues with one another.
That’s definitely been the case for Tamika Scott and her sister, LaTocha Scott-Bivens, who, along with Kandi Burruss and Tameka “Tiny” Harris, are the four powerhouses of XSCAPE. The two sisters have argued over accusations of body shaming, stealing, and more on the series.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen alongside The Real Housewives of Miami's Alexia Nepola, Tamika had to face some tough questions about her sibling and the drama they've dealt with throughout SWV & XSCAPE: The Queens of R&B.

It all went down when Cohen pulled Tamika into a round of the WWHL game "Can You Defend Her?" Cohen asked Tamika about a series of events that have gone down — and whether Tocha’s actions are defendable in Tamika's eyes.
- Can she defend Tocha feeling body-shamed by Tamika texting, “If you had an ass to kiss”?
“I can’t defend her all day because that didn't mean that. It was a figure of speech,” Tamika said. Cohen seemed dubious, but Tamika doubled down: “I would never body shame anybody.”
- Can she defend her staying with Rocky, her husband, for so many years?
Tamika stared straight ahead and remained silent. (We think that’s a nope.)
- Can she defend Tocha’s suspicion that Kandi might have had something to do with her solo project being shelved back in the day?
“No,” Tamika said succinctly.
- Can you defend Tocha meeting with Motown Gospel about a solo contract behind the group’s back?
“The contract that was meant for both of us, that she stole from us,” she said. “She stole from me. That was our deal. And she took it.”
- Can you defend Tocha speaking for all of XSCAPE?
“Heeeeeeeck no,” she said.
Tamika also handled another question later in the episode concerning group dynamics about XSCAPE and SWV, (a group whose members include Tamara “Taj” Johnson, Leanne “Lelee” Lyons, and Cheryl “Coko” Gamble).
"Do you agree with the statement that SWV cannot survive without Coko yet XSCAPE can without Tocha?
Tamika considered the query, then said, “SWV songs are Coco heavy. They did have to cancel a couple of months ago when she got sick. So the show didn’t go on.”
Her own group is a different story, though she claimed.
“If you take any member out of XSCAPE, the show continues … Any of us,” she said, adding that that’s just a fact. “Right now we’re doing shows with just us three, without my sister.”
The always-curious Cohen asked, “Isn’t there a world where she could have a side deal doing gospel but also be in the group?
“Yes,” said Tamika, “she could do both. But …” The operative word is “could.”
