Kate Chastain Hints at What Inspires Her Upcoming "Mother Effin' Walk Off" on Below Deck
"I get very frustrated and it takes me awhile to get that frustrated," the Below Deck chief stew teased.
With each passing episode of Below Deck, we're getting closer and closer to the moment we've all been waiting for when Kate Chastain threatens to "quit" the charter season, as we see in the Season 7 trailer, above.
"It's a mother effin walk off!" Kate teased to ET during an interview at BravoCon earlier this month. "I think it happens a bit later in the season. I get very frustrated and it takes me awhile to get that frustrated."
Kate has especially been butting heads with Kevin Dobson this season of Below Deck. Though the chief stew wouldn't reveal the motivation for walking off the boat later on this season, she did agree with the ET interviewer that Kevin "certainly frustrated" her.
The Season 7 trailer previewed a heated moment between Kate and Ashton Pienaar, who tells the chief stew, "Everybody feels that way about you, Kate!"
She then tells him, "OK, great. Go find another chief stew. I quit," before we see her off the boat and walking down the dock.
Kate confirmed during an interview with Decider in October that she actually asked the camera crew to stop filming twice this season of Below Deck. She later explained to The Daily Dish what finally sent her over the edge after six seasons on the show.
"This season there's more drama than most seasons, I think. I didn't realize it until looking back and saying, 'Oh my gosh, that happened and that happened,'" Kate explained during an interview in New York City in October. "And it just got to a point where I felt like the people I was working with were too disrespectful and too much, and I wanted to be out of that situation."
"Yeah, I've never jumped ship in six seasons, and there have been plenty of situations where it would have been great," Kate continued. "This [season] was extra dramatic."
The drama continues in an all-new episode of Below Deck Monday at 9/8c. Check out a preview, below.
