One of the most glamorous Bravo weddings to date was with Captain Sandy Yawn and her wife, Leah Shafer — and now, thanks to the Sept. 23 episode of the Below Deck Mediterranean After Show, fans can get an inside look at the ceremony and reception.
The above video features exclusive footage from Captain Sandy's big day, which she described as "magical."
“Seeing Leah come down the aisle, I just felt overwhelmed with love," Sandy added. "I don't even remember — it's like it was an outer-body experience."
The two tied the knot in the only way that felt right for the Below Deck Mediterranean couple: onboard a luxury yacht.
Which yachties attended Captain Sandy's wedding?
Sandy's ceremony was a true who’s-who event, as the guest list was packed with Below Deck stars, including alum Chef Dave White, who prepared the food for the wedding. Kate Chastain and Aesha Scott were also in attendance.
Even though Kate and Sandy never worked together on a Below Deck season, the two have managed to create a lasting friendship. This led to an exclusive invitation to her wedding, which Kate happily accepted and couldn’t help but boast about.
“I loved that wedding so much," Kate said on the Below Deck Med After Show. "For one, they only invited 50 people, and I was on that list. So, I loved to be a part of a VIP group. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh!' I felt very cool.”
Aesha Scott delivered a speech at Captain Sandy's wedding
Aesha, meanwhile, has had a very close relationship with the captain for years. (She's even called Sandy "a second mom” to her.) As such, it was no surprise that the chief stew delivered a heartfelt speech during Sandy's reception.
"Your love is so beautiful and something to be admired," Aesha's speech began. "And Leah, I feel like I've told you this a million times, but when I've been on the bridge with Sandy and she knows that you're gonna call or you might walk down the dock and she knows that you're gonna come into her life at some moment, she is like a puppy."
"Your love is like so pure, and it's almost childlike and I so admire it," Aesha continued. "There's nothing false, there's nothing engineered. It's just pure, beautiful love. And do you know how many people strive for that in their lives?"
