Does Kristen Doute Still Own Her Boho-Inspired Valley Village Home? Where She Lives Today
Although Kristen Doute once declared there was "no place I’d rather be," the Vanderpump Rules alum has left her first Valley Village home behind.
When it comes to home renovations, Kristen Doute has proven she’s the master of creating a reimagined space.
In 2020, Kristen completely transformed her fixer-upper in Valley Village into a chic ‘70s-inspired abode with modern touches, but just what happened to the revamped cottage she once lived in? And where does Kristen call home today?
Here's what to know about Kristen's home situation before we see her appear on The Valley, a new series coming to Bravo on March 19, 2024.
Did Kristen Doute sell her Valley Village home?
The Vanderpump Rules alum listed the 1,770 square-foot home once featured in PEOPLE for $1.3 million in 2021, according to US Weekly, moving in with her then-boyfriend, Alex Menache, at the time.
Kristen bought the $1 million property, which just happened to be in the same Los Angeles neighborhood as several of her Vanderpump Rules castmates including Ariana Madix, Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney. Tom Schwartz, Jax Taylor, and Brittany Cartwright, in April of 2019.
As for what drew her to the quaint cottage, the T-shirt designer once told Open House TV she was inspired by its potential.
“I describe my personal style as boho chic with a modern twist and I really loved the character of this home and how old it is,” she said. “But it was really closed in, it had dark wood floors, so I just wanted to open it up and make it feel light and airy.”

The home’s expansive backyard, including an outdoor living room and hot tub, just sealed the deal.
“This space is really why I bought this home,” she said at the time. “It’s so relaxing, I wrote most of the book in my backyard!”
Kristen — who co-wrote the book He’s Making You Crazy: How to Get the Guy, Get Even and Get Over It with Michele Alexander — completely updated the space with help of John McClain Design.
The end result was a bright and airy space, including a cozy living room with a large neutral sectional, circular white marble coffee tables, and a rattan chair to bring in natural wood tones. A guitar and black-and-white photos hung on the walls to give it a bit of a rocker vibe.
They also converted the home’s detached garage into an effortlessly cool home office for her clothing line, James Mae.
“It was so much fun working with Kristen on her home and office,” McClain told PEOPLE in 2020. “Her T-shirt line has this relaxed, vintage rock-n-roll vibe, so that was my jumping off point design-wise. I love juxtaposing design elements, and Kristen’s office is light and airy but still blends metals, woods, and other textures so that your eye dances around the space.”
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit that year, Kristen seemed perfectly content in the updated home.
“Bought this baby a year ago, no place I’d rather be quarantined,” she wrote on Instagram at the time, along with a photo of her standing in front of the home’s cute yellow exterior and brick pathway.
By 2021, however, Kristen was ready for a change and listed the property for sale.
Where is Kristen Doute living now?
These days Kristen is living in California’s famed San Fernando Valley with boyfriend Luke Broderick. Fans can catch up with the pair on Bravo’s new reality show, The Valley, premiering on March 19, 2024.
“An outdoorsman who enjoys fishing and hunting in the Rocky Mountains, Luke is no fan of the hustle and bustle of Hollywood but has chosen to reside in the Valley to be with Kristen,” a press release announcing the show explained. “This duo has a lot to juggle including starting a family, caring for three dogs, running multiple businesses, and not to mention, figuring out which state they want to call home.”
The Valley also follows four other couples who chose to “trade bottle service in West Hollywood for baby bottles in the Valley” including Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, Danny and Nia Booko, Jesse and Michelle Lally, and Jason & Janet Caperna.
