Southern Charm’s Taylor Ann Green is sharing an update on her sister, Catie, after opening up about her sibling’s cancer diagnosis during the Season 8 reunion. Last week, Taylor shared that her sister was set to undergo surgery amid her cancer battle, thanking fans for their support and noting that it’s an emotional topic for her to talk about in “great detail.”
After the surgery, Taylor shared an update on how it went, writing on her Instagram Stories, “Surgery went well and sis is ready for her healing journey.” She added that “no surprise tumors” were found during the surgery.
Viewers will recall that Taylor opened up about her sister’s health journey during the Season 8 reunion after Austen Kroll opened up about losing his sister when he was a kid. “My sister is going through cancer, so losing a sister, I cannot imagine,” Taylor said during Part 1 of the Season 8 reunion. “And, like, going through that and having to talk about it, it’s hard. It’s hard.”
Back in May, Taylor went into detail about her sister’s diagnosis in an emotional Instagram post.
“Almost [five] years ago, my older sister was diagnosed with [two] different types of ovarian cancer; she was a damn warrior and kicked its ass after a few months of [holistic] treatment. We were so excited for her and her husband to hopefully have the chance of starting a family, but here we are [four] and a half years later and it has decided to rear its ugly head again. Truly F you cancer. As incredibly disheartening news as this can be, my sister is not faint of heart and is ready to face this challenge again,” she wrote at the time. “I know I’m biased but, she truly is the most incredible, fun-loving, genuine human with the most beautiful and kind heart on this planet; she’s by far one of the biggest [heroes] in my life. I love you so much, sis. Now let’s show this cancer who is boss.”
