Sonja Morgan Responds to Luann de Lesseps' Comments About Her Drinking

After Sonja Morgan got a little worked up over Ramona Singer's Instagram activity at Eboni K. Williams' election night party earlier this season of The Real Housewives of New York City, Luann de Lesseps expressed that she felt like her friend had reached her limit when it came to drinking.

So, Luann, who has committed to a sober lifestyle, decided that it was best for her to leave Eboni's event early due to the situation giving her "anxiety" and asked her friends to look after Sonja as the party continued. "There seems to be a shift going on," Luann said in an interview during the episode. "And now it's kind of taken a turn for the worst, and it's hard to watch."

Sonja shared her reaction to Luann's comments during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on June 29, which you can view, above. She also responded to a fan who asked her if she thought that she was "too lit at Eboni's election party." "No, I wasn't too lit," Sonja said during the WWHL After Show (clip above). "And Eboni and Leah [McSweeney] know I wasn't too lit."

Leah, who appeared with Sonja on WWHL that night, said that she is "never too lit." However, host Andy Cohen told Sonja, "You were pretty lit. Did you see it, the episode?" "I'm always lit when I'm with my girlfriends," Sonja replied. "I always have a good time."

Some of Sonja's fellow New York Housewives have expressed concern over her drinking this season of RHONY, including when things got heated between her and Ramona during one dinner out in the Hamptons. However, Sonja said of that spat with Ramona that they just argue "like sisters do" in a tweet last month.

Speaking of Sonja's relationship with the RHONY ladies this season, one fan also asked during the WWHL After Show, "Out of all the ladies, who do you feel is the most genuine friend to you right now?"

Though they have had their ups and downs with each other this season, Sonja said that she "couldn't ever be any closer than I am right now to Luann or Ramona" and that "they're like family."

However, Sonja added that she has also connected with the newest New York Housewife, Eboni. "I became very close to Eboni, because we were both raised by our grandmothers. We both lived with our grandmothers," she shared. "We bonded over that and just being alone in the city."

When Leah noted that she was "sitting right here" as everyone else on RHONY was named, Sonja assured her friend, "You're very genuine." Still, Leah said that she felt like they had grown closer recently. "I know, but we've been talking a lot lately," she said. "I feel like I talk to you more than you talk to Ramona and Luann."

Leah also pointed out how they went from having some drama last season to "now we're talking all the time," adding, "It's great." 

After Leah shared that she felt like she was "the most genuine friend" to Sonja, Sonja gave Leah a big, warm hug as they sat in the Clubhouse.
