Scheana Reveals Where She Stands with Lindsay After Vacationing with Carl's Mom
Vanderpump Rules' Scheana Shay hung out with Sharon Radke on what would've been Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard's wedding weekend.
As a Vanderpump Rules OG, Scheana Shay knows that group vacations can often lead to a bit of drama. And her recent Mexico trip was no exception.
The former SUR-ver touched on the topic during the December 1 episode of her Scheananigans podcast, which premiered just weeks after she and her husband, Brock Davies, traveled to Cancun. Although Scheana said the experience was generally “great,” she acknowledged it was somewhat bittersweet, as she initially booked the trip for Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke’s wedding.
The Summer House cast members were set to tie the knot in mid-November, more than a year after Carl popped the question. However, just two months before the big day, Lindsay confirmed that the ceremony had been canceled, as Carl had called off their engagement. By that time, Scheana and Brock had already booked their flights and made hotel reservations, which is why they decided to keep their travel plans and instead use the weekend as an “unofficial honeymoon.”

The couple was joined by other would-be wedding guests, including Summer House’s Kyle Cooke and Gabby Prescod; Summer House alum Everette Weston; as well as Carl’s mom and Scheana’s good friend, Sharon Radke.
During last week’s Scheananigans episode, Scheana recalled hanging out with Carl’s mother and joking about the potential reaction from fans.
“I was like, ‘Oh I can just imagine the fans next year, like, ‘Are we going to have real beef to squash because I’m here in Mexico with Carl’s mom?’ Total joke,” she said.
Lindsay confronts Scheana about the "beef" comment
Shortly after the remarks, Lindsay reportedly reached out to Scheana, saying she had heard from “five different people” that Scheana was “trashing” her.
“I think it was the second day I was there and I get a text from Lindsay, and I guess I had made a comment when we were in the pool one day,” Scheana said on her podcast. “And I’m like there’s no way it’s five people because I made one comment and it was a joke about our BravoCon [2023] segment where we had to ‘Squash the Beef’… But I guess whoever heard me say that took it a different way and made it sound like I was trashing her and I was being really negative… I was, like, ‘No. That is not how I said it. That’s not how it was meant.’ It was literally a lighthearted comment and that was it. She did not respond after I explained it.”
Scheana's Friendship with Carl's Mom, Sharon
Scheana said she became close with Sharon back in 2018 when they both appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Scheana and Carl were the guests, while Sharon took on bartending duties along with Scheana’s mom, Erika van Olphen.
“I’ve always just maintained a relationship with [Sharon],” Scheana said, adding that the Mexico trip also fell on Sharon’s birthday. “I’ve been checking in on here because I know, as a mom, I cannot imagine how hard this has been for her to see her son just torn apart in the media… She really needed this vacation. I was so happy that we were gonna be there and be able to have some fun times with Sharon.”
Scheana on Lindsay and Carl's Split: "Time Heals All"
While Scheana said the getaway was enjoyable, she understood that Lindsay might’ve felt some type of way after seeing all the vacation posts.
“Obviously, posting photos and videos, I can’t imagine how Lindsay was feeling, you know,” Scheana explained. “This should’ve been her wedding weekend, and now we’re still there with her friends and Carl’s mom and whatnot… She had the dress picked out, the venue, the food, the flowers — I’m sure every detail ready to go and then this happens.
"... I do think, personally, that this is gonna be the best for both of them," Scheana continued, referring to Lindsay and Carl's breakup. "I think that they will both be happier once the heartache and heartbreak and all of that heals. You know, time heals all.”
