Mary Cosby Says Her Late Grandmother Is "The Woman Responsible for Making Me [Who] I Am Today"
The RHOSLC wife and mother paid tribute to her grandmother, sharing, "Love you forever."
On Tuesday (March 8), The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's Mary Cosby decided to follow through on a call to action she asked her fans to share on Instagram on March 8: "Give the hard-working women in your life some extra love today!"
For Mary, that woman is her late grandmother. And while RHOSLC fans heard a bit about her grandma on the series last season, Mary shed more light on her in a heartwarming tribute, along with some throwback photos.
"Today on International Women's Day, I want to honor the woman responsible for making me the woman I am today, my beautiful Grandmother. She is my greatest inspiration and I feel blessed for every day that I had with her," Mary wrote. "This Beautiful Lady is where I get my Strength From! Strongest ’Woman’ I will ever know With So Much CLASS, Elegance [and] style! Always knowing her purpose in this life! Taught [and] showed me the power in the love of God, Humble With her Love in every thing life Brought to her! I only see Triumph! Love you Forever."
Mary, who is the first lady of her family's church, has been open about her connection to her grandmother, who previously held the role, and the major part she's played in the events of her life, especially her marriage to Robert Cosby Sr. — who is the second husband of her late grandmother. "So my grandmother, in her will, she wanted me to take her place," she told Heather Gay in Season 1 of RHOSLC.
"Basically, my grandmother passed everything on to me and — literally — she wanted me to also marry her second husband, which was my stepgrandfather," Mary further explained in an interview that took place in an episode during the season.
Mary and Robert later discussed more about their relationship during the RHOSLC Season 1 reunion, with Robert showing love for Mary: "The best, but she's more than a first lady. Really, she's a co-pastor, she's my equal."
He added, "Mary is a great mother [to son Robert Jr.] and a great wife. I love her. I understand we've had our ups and downs. Hey, you've been married 22 years, how in the world can you not get along?"
