Sai De Silva Teases Upcoming Friendship Drama with Brynn Whitfield: "A Huge Surprise"
While RHONY's Sai De Silva and Brynn Whitfield may have started Season 14 as close friends, Sai dished that drama tore the two apart during filming.
There may be trouble brewing in BFF paradise.
The Real Housewives of New York City’s Sai De Silva recently let it slip to US Weekly that she and marketing consultant Brynn Whitfield are “not best friends” by the end of Season 14.
“That was a big surprise to me. It was a huge surprise,” she said of a feud that “came out of nowhere” between the women.
The Brooklyn content creator and influencer remained coy about just what may have torn the one-time friends apart, but the one thing we do know is the drama will play out in front of the cameras.

“Stay tuned to find out,” Sai teased.
Sai De Silva and Brynn Whitfield's Friendship
The friendship between Brynn and Sai was on full-display in the season’s first episode as Brynn said she considered Sai to “100 percent be one of my best friends.”
“I just like going to her house because it’s like that’s what I want. Like, she’s living the life that I want,” Brynn added.
Brynn wasn’t the only one feeling the love. Sai told HollywoodLife’s Pay Attention Puh-Lease! podcast that she and Brynn were “very, very close” when the season began.
“I think her and I were the closest, and I think towards the end [of the season], there was a lot of tension between us,” she explained. “We have a lot of similarities as far as our upbringing, so we just kind of automatically gravitated towards one another, but I think after spending a lot of time with one another, you just kind of [say] ‘enough is enough,’ ya know? Friends get on each other’s nerves.”
As far as just what caused the rift? Sai did dish out a few juicy details.
The drama apparently goes down at “Brynn’s birthday party.”
“It just didn’t necessarily go as happy birthday as one might hope,” Sai told the podcast. “There was possibly a little [f-ck you] in there.”
Fans get a glimpse of the birthday blow out between the two Housewives in the Season 14 trailer.
“F-ck you tonight,” a furious Sai is heard telling Brynn before walking out of the party. “Have a good birthday, f-ck you.”
The tension apparently started over “something completely different” than what you would expect, Sai explained to US Weekly.
“She’s a fun girl. She’s a lot of fun. As you can see, she has this huge bubbly personality [and] she’s great for going out with, but let’s just say she can’t hold a secret,” she added.
It also seems the drama has nothing to do with Brynn’s flirty ways.
Brynn seemingly catches flak from Erin Lichy after getting a little too friendly with Erin’s husband, Abe, at a party.
“Once you’re ready to get a divorce, I’m single,” Brynn told him in another clip from the trailer.
While the comment didn’t sit well with Erin, Sai said she would have just shaken it off if the comment was made about her own husband, David Craig.
“I think that Brynn also has a lot of jokes [and] she communicates through humor. So, sometimes her jokes don’t always necessarily land," she said. I knew where she was coming from in that moment. She was just telling a joke or demonstrating some sort of, you know, funny behavior. It just didn’t land at that moment."
