Melissa Gorga Offers an Update on How Her Daughter Antonia Is Doing After Her Struggles
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member opens up about her family during the Season 12 sit-down.
Amid all the Garden State drama, there was one subject that came up during Part 2 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 12 reunion that the Housewives seemed to agree on, and that was sharing all the love they have for their children.
During the sit-down, each of the ladies gave host Andy Cohen some updates about their families, including Melissa Gorga, who shared the latest news on her and Joe Gorga's three children, Antonia, Joey and Gino.
After Melissa jokingly shared with Andy that her youngest son, Joey, "always says he had five girlfriends," she went on to reveal how Antonia was doing lately. As fans saw this season, Melissa's 16-year-old daughter went through some struggles as she recovered from the knee injury she sustained last year, which resulted in her being unable to participate in cheerleading.
In the April 5 episode, Melissa shared how thankful and "proud" she was that Antonia was making progress with her trainer, and had a heart-to-heart with her daughter about her struggles and their recent move, which resulted in Antonia having to transfer to a new high school. "It was stressful," Antonia revealed in the episode, to which Melissa had replied, "I do take ownership that I didn't put your feelings into say, because I didn't want to admit that you were unhappy."
At the reunion, Melissa revealed an update on Antonia's situation, telling Andy that her daughter was "getting a little better" these days, adding, "She's, like, coming out of it now." Andy then asked whether Antonia had "forgiven" her for moving, and Melissa responded with some positive news about her daughter's adjustment to the move.
"She likes it better here," Melissa said, adding, "She has two sets of friends now, she loves it."
