Did Joe Gorga Apologize to Bill Aydin for That Scathing Text?

Season 12 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey kicked off with some major drama once again for the Giudice-Gorga family.

How to Watch

Joe Gorga's relationship with his nieces had become strained following some comments he made about their dad, Joe Giudice, last season. Things came to a head when Teresa Giudice's eldest daughter, Gia Giudice, confronted her Uncle Joe about his criticism of her father. But in the episodes since, we've thankfully seen this family get to a place of healing and understanding.

Andy Cohen revisited Joe and Gia's drama during the April 19 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, which featured Melissa Gorga and Jackie Goldschneider as guests (clip above). During a round of Should! They! Apologize!?, Andy asked Melissa if her husband, Joe, should apologize to Gia for the comments he made about Joe Giudice, to which the New Jersey Housewife replied, "No."

Andy was actually able to ask Joe if he and Gia have come to a resolution on the matter, as the RHONJ husband was in the Bravo Clubhouse audience supporting his wife during her WWHL appearance that night. "Are you two complete about this finally?" Andy asked Joe, who confirmed, "Yes, we are."

When Joe previously appeared on WWHL with Melissa in March, he clarified his remarks about Joe Giudice from Season 11 of RHONJ. "I never really speak about Joe Giudice — ever — and there's a ton of articles about me with him, about my wife and I. I wonder if they ever yell at him for anything. If you go out and look, there's 11 articles. I've never said anything," Joe explained. "Before that day, my sister's telling me — they're going through a divorce — and she's telling me all these things that he's saying to her. So I'm sitting there and I'm thinking about all this, and then we had that episode a couple days later, so I explode. That's my sister. I'm trying to protect her."

Gia also reflected on her dramatic moment with her uncle on this season of RHONJ when she served as the guest bartender on WWHL in February. "I was a little surprised by the way he reacted towards me and how defensive he was, because [bottom line], it is my father," she said. "So have a little respect, just a little."

During Tuesday's WWHL After Show, which you can view below, Andy, Melissa, and Jackie discussed Gia's getting more involved in this season of RHONJ. Jackie admitted that she had "mixed feelings about it" in light of the events of last season.

Jackie Goldschneider’s Thoughts on Gia Giudice Getting in the Mix

Andy then noted that Gia isn't the first Real Housewives kid to find herself at the center of the drama. "It's an interesting thing, because if you look back at seasons past, we had Caroline Manzo's daughter [come] to the reunion... and she really got into it. She was getting into it with Teresa. You had Briana [Culberson], really was involved in [The Real Housewives of Orange County]," Andy said. "So it's interesting. Some of these younger women who have grown up while this stuff is happening, there is a precedent."

Jackie added that it "makes the lines really difficult to navigate," but she always wants "to respect somebody's children."

Andy agreed that it is "an interesting [conundrum]" and said that it must be "really complicated" for Melissa and Joe since Gia is family. Melissa concurred, sharing, "It makes me uncomfortable."
