Porsha Williams Opens up About Keeping Her Late Father's Memory Alive for Her Daughter
As she prepares to welcome Baby PJ, The Real Housewives of Atlanta mom-to-be says she feels her dad's presence guiding her.
Posha Williams is about to become a mother for the first time, and she can't wait. The Real Housewives of Atlanta pal celebrated her daughter-to-be at a baby shower thrown by fiancé Dennis McKinley on February 24. Surrounded by 80 guests, including her sister Lauren Williams, Cynthia Bailey, Marlo Hampton, and RHOA alum Kenya Moore, she felt "the day was magical," as Porsha told PEOPLE. “It was amazing to walk into a room and feel that much love. I have such a tremendous support system around me and women who lift me up and are just so incredibly happy for me,” she added.
While she was basking in the love of all of those who came out to show their support, there was one person who was missing from the celebrations: Porsha's late father.
"I lost my father years ago — he was a really special man. It’s hard at times, but keeping his memory alive is important to me," Porsha said. “Although Baby PJ won’t get the chance to meet him, I know he is here in spirit and guiding me,” she continued. “I can feel his presence."
And while Porsha will continue to remember her father, she is grateful for her mother and Dennis's mother, both of whom have made appearances on RHOA this season. "We are blessed to watch our mothers be grandmas to Baby PJ. We love our moms! We were both raised by very strong women and this feels full circle for me. I’m also so excited to read her her first book, do late-night feedings and have the privilege of singing lullabies to our baby girl!” she said.
