Phaedra Parks Opens up About Homeschooling Her Children During Self-Quarantine
"Teaching children is not my ministry," says the The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum.
Like many moms across the world, Phaedra Parks has found herself navigating a brand new role amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member is temporarily homeschooling her two sons, Ayden and Dylan.
Phaedra, who is already a proud “Southern belle, mommy, lifestyle guru, mortician, mediator, attorney, Wilhelmina Model and author,” is not looking to add “teacher” to her resume anytime soon. She has discovered that education is not necessarily her forte, and took to Instagram on March 16 to open up about the challenging situation.
“I love my sons but teaching children is NOT my ministry,” she wrote alongside a photo of she and her sons at their home. “May God grant all the moms, dads, and caretakers patience and grace during this quarantine. God send a village to sustain us during this difficult time. We will survive.”
Two days before, Phaedra shared an adorable snap of her son, Dylan, hanging out at home.
“The only person I know who is fully prepared and ready for the pandemic!” Phaedra captioned the playful photo.
In the comments, a follower asked Phaedra what her son was up to, and she responded with, “Researching, resting, stay ready!”
Phaedra isn’t the only RHOA mom to share an update on what it’s like to parent during a self-quarantine. Porsha Williams shared a sweet photo while home with her daughter, Pilar Jhena McKinley, who will celebrate her first birthday on March 22.
“Best part of this self-quarantine,” Porsha wrote.
