Padma Lakshmi Shares Her Daughter’s First Visit to the Top Chef Set
You need to check out this adorable throwback video of the Top Chef host and her baby girl.
Even in the early days of motherhood, Padma Lakshmi was finding the perfect balance between hosting Bravo's Top Chef and raising her daughter — and she's offered up the proof.
In the throwback clip, Padma was getting her hair and makeup done, she was eating lunch and breastfeeding her baby daughter ALL AT THE SAME TIME while filming Top Chef.
"#TBT Littlehands’ first set visit to [Top Chef]! We used to call her 'Gingey,' a South Indian term of endearment for kids," she captioned the moment in which she was "trying to do everything at once" during a break filming. "Shout out to all the multitasking moms and dads, working from home, raising children and dealing with online learning, especially now."
Padma previously spoke to The Daily Dish about bringing her baby girl to work.
"She’s grown up on set. Six weeks after being born, she was at the D.C. season [Season 7 in 2010]," Padma said back in 2018. "And she has her own trailer so that even if we go really late, she can have regular child hours, although Krishna likes to stay up."
Padma told The Daily Dish at that time that it brings her "peace of mind" to be able to work and bring her daughter to set.
"Now she’s old enough to where she has a scooter, and she scoots around the sound stage and everybody knows her and she knows everyone. She feels a great possessiveness or proprietorship over the set, over the cast and crew. She feels like she’s a member of the crew," Padma said. "And now that she’s getting older, she actually babysits one of the little puppies that one of the other makeup artists brings to set."
