Mercedes “MJ” Javid and Tommy Feight Welcome Their First Child
The Shahs of Sunset couple are officially parents.
It’s a boy for Mercedes "MJ" Javid and Tommy Feight. The Shahs of Sunset couple confirmed the birth of their son on April 17th, according to E! News. The baby, whom they've named Shams Francis Feight, was born 6 pounds, 9 ounces via C-section early Wednesday morning in Los Angeles. The name Shams is reportedly in honor of MJ's dad, Shams Javid, who passed away in 2018, and the name Francis is in honor of Tommy's mom who passed.
MJ's rep told E! News, "The healthy baby boy is happy and doing great, and the family can't wait to bring him home."
The happy news comes as the couple are approaching their one-year wedding anniversary on April 21. Months after they wed, MJ confirmed they were expecting a baby, the first child for both of them, at the Shahs of Sunset Season 8 reunion in October. Leading up to that big announcement, MJ had been open with fans and viewers about her desire to conceive and start a family, and how she decided to undergo IVF to make that dream a reality.
Once she confirmed she was pregnant, MJ kept fans up to date on every moment of her pregnancy, from when she was expecting to give birth (aptly, Mother’s Day) to what names she had in mind for Baby Feight. “We do happen to have the name,” MJ said back in November. “And the name is actually unisex. We’re holding onto that.”
The pregnancy wasn’t always easy for MJ, who was put on bedrest along the way following a miscarriage scare. However, in the weeks leading up to the baby’s birth, MJ shared an update on how she was feeling in the wake of the ups and downs along the way: "Feeling overwhelmed with excitement, gratefulness, and hopeful about what lies ahead. The nurse staff at [the hospital] makes me feel like we’re in such good hands, and right at home. I’m so grateful to [my doctors] and the whole team at [the office]. My husband and I are very grateful and hopeful and appreciative of this journey and what is to come.”
