Find out why she hung out of a car window as her ex drove away.

Breakin' up is hard to do but there's comfort in knowing that even the rich and famous have their share of embarrassing stories of getting dumped.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Peacock and the Bravo app.

New York Magazine recently asked 15 celebrities to share their worst break-up tales and, among them, The Real Housewives of New Jersey's Melissa Gorga admitted to a moment of pure weakness.

"I might have hung onto a car window and been like 'don’t leave!' as they were driving away. And the car actually starts to move and you’re still hanging onto the window, and you realize that person is such an idiot and is not good for you," she revealed. Fortunately, this story has a happy ending as Melissa is now in a very happy marriage with husband Joe. "But I kissed frogs before I got married, that’s for sure," she admitted.

Meanwhile, RHONY's LuAnn de Lesseps walked in on her ex in a very compromising position. "I caught my boyfriend in a very awkward position with another woman--you don’t know what that person looked like. I thought, Oh my God, all right, it’s time to move on," she divulged. But it's another story with a meant-to-be ending because LuAnn also revealed that the incident "actually catapulted me to move to New York."

New York also rounded up the stars of Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce and asked them to share their stories. For Lisa Edelstein, life might be imitating art. "The worst breakup I had was when I met this other woman who was also in a relationship with my boyfriend," said Lisa, who plays a woman who discovers her husband is cheating on her in Bravo's first scripted show, premiering tonight at 10/9c. "When I called his best friend to find out who knew, his best friend tried to make me feel better by reminding me that I was the girlfriend. She was the other woman; I was the girlfriend."

And Lisa's co-star Beau Garrett got the most personal by revealing that her last big relationship was also her "biggest heartbreak, just because I thought it was the one. The horrible story is that I left in the middle of the night with all my stuff and never saw him again. But in a way it created the best year of my life, afterwards."
