Tamra Judge Has a Newfound Understanding of Meghan King Edmonds' Life as a Stepmom

"She's just all in, and she loves Jim's kids like they're her own," the #RHOC fitness guru says.

Meghan King Edmonds Has a Big Announcement

Before Meghan King Edmonds announced that she is expecting her first child with hubby Jim Edmonds last week, The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member had always prided herself on being a "#CoolStepmom" to her husband's four daughters from previous relationships, Lauren, Landon, Hayley, and Sutton. That was so much the case that Meghan even felt like she had a bond with her stepdaughters that was as strong as if she had given birth to them herself.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

But Meghan didn't always see eye-to-eye with her castmates about the differences between stepmoms and biological moms, particularly Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson, whose conversation with her in Tahiti ended with the then-RHOC newbie in tears.

You're a Stepmom, Not a Mom

So how did Tamra react to the news that Meghan would soon experience what it's like to raise a child that you've given birth to? "Well, I was very excited for her to become a mom because I felt like she wanted to become a mom, and she really wanted to become a mom of Jim's children, which at first we're like, 'OK, this is a little weird,'" Tamra told The Daily Dish. "But getting to know Meghan better, now I get it. She's just all in, and she loves Jim's kids like they're her own."

Tamra said her feelings about stepmoms came from her own past experience with her ex-husband Simon Barney's girlfriend and her daughter Sophia. "Sometimes I'm like, 'Ooh, you did not just do that.' Or, 'You are not taking my daughter to the dentist,'" she explained. "You get protective. Now, I'm over it. I'm used to it."

We've already seen Meghan start the process of IVF this season of RHOC, a treatment she had to pursue, not because of fertility issues, but because her husband had a vasectomy and froze his sperm. "I've never done IVF before, so she was kind of filling me in on how it works and all the testing you do beforehand, and the doctor said she's extremely healthy," Tamra said. "She's gonna have a little girl, and it'll be beautiful."

Tamra said that she only recently heard Meghan's pregnancy news, so she hasn't given her any advice on entering motherhood, but she's "just wishing her well" and that she has a "happy, healthy baby."

Isn't that all any mother could for ask?

The road to pregnancy wasn't easy for Meghan, as we saw during the Season 11 premiere of RHOC.
