Mary Cosby Reveals Why Her Son Robert Isn't in College or Working — and Why She Doesn't "Mind"
RHOSLC's Mary Cosby explains that she's perfectly fine with her son living at home and asking for money — for now.
In the above preview for Season 5, Episode 2 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City — set to air Wednesday, Sept. 25 — Mary Cosby gives an update on her son, Robert Jr.
"Robert is currently at home right now. He's not in college," she explains in a confessional. "Robert does ask me for money, and no he's not working, but I just feel like he's very sheltered."
That, however, isn't on him, according to Mary. As she puts it, "I feel like that's my fault, and so I don't mind him staying home."
"One day I'll give him the boot," she adds. "But not right now."
The preview clip continues with Mary and Robert hanging out and snacking on some donuts while she gives him a couple of updates on her life, including the details of the dramatic dinner that Lisa Barlow threw the night prior.
Who is Mary Cosby's son, Robert Jr.?
Robert Jr. is the only son of Mary and her husband, Robert Cosby Sr. — who, yes, was once married to her grandmother.
"I met my husband through my grandma..." explained Mary in a Season 1 video for BravoTV.com in 2020. "You're dealt with the cards that you're given and it's up to you to make it happy. I love my life, I have a blessed life, and I love Robert Sr."
Is Mary Cosby's son Robert Jr. married?
During RHOSLC Season 4, we learned an interesting piece of information about Mary's son: He got married ... and didn't tell her until a year after the fact.
"Everyone's telling me it's his wife," Mary said in a confessional interview. "So, we're gonna have to figure that one out." Then, on Episode 7, she finally confronted him to ask about the rumor he was married. “I mean, kind of yeah. Like I went to the courthouse," he said.
Months later, in January 2024, Mary revealed that Robert's other half was also living in her home.
“I love her… and she loves me back,” Mary shared in an exclusive interview with BravoTV.com, explaining that the couple had been living with her for three or four months at the time.
To see more Mary (and Robert! and maybe his wife?!) tune into The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City on Bravo Wednesdays at 9/8c. Episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
