Marlo Hampton Shares a Touching Tribute After Her Grandmother Arrie Passes Away
The RHOA friend considered Arrie to be a grandmother and a foster parent.
Marlo Hampton is mourning the loss of her grandmother, Arrie Holmes. She was 103 years old.
Marlo shared the news in a touching Instagram post on Monday, March 16. “Rest in peace Granny Arrie, I love you so much. You lived a full complete life. At 103, you saw it all. I wasn’t ready for you to go, but God was ready for you to come home to him,” the Real Housewives of Atlanta friend wrote. “I’m so happy I was able to be by your side for your last breath.”
Marlo went on to describe the extremely close relationship she shared with her grandmother.
“You took me in at a time when my young life was in shambles. You were more than a foster parent/grandmother. You showed me an unconditional love like I knew before,” she wrote. “I will never forget everything you taught me, and ALL the things you did for me over the years. Thank you for everything, love Marlo.”
RHOA cast member Kandi Burruss commented on the post to share her love with Marlo. “I’m sorry for your loss,” Kandi wrote. “I’ll be praying for you and your family!”
On February 3, Marlo visited Arrie in St. Pete Beach, Florida. She posted a series of videos showcasing her grandmother’s personality. In one video, Arrie is singing, and in another, she’s asking Marlo to get her a sewing machine so that she can create her own clothes. (Marlo had bought her a few pieces, but she was definitely not interested in them!)
“I spent part of my weekend in St. Pete with my favorite girl,” wrote Marlo. “My grannie Arrie. My Aquarius diva. She’s strong, very opinionated, with a heart of gold.”
