Marissa Hermer's "Enormous" L.A. Estate Is "Pretty Unbelievable"

Part of the fun of moving to a new place is always moving into a brand-spanking-new abode. So we can only imagine that Marissa Hermer is having a blast now that she and her family, which includes husband Matt Hermer, sons Max and Jake, and daughter Sadie, have decided to spend half the year in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles, while they still have their home in London. 

Now living in a six-bedroom, nine-bath L.A. estate, according to PEOPLE, the Hermers are totally embracing their new California lifestyle. "Our new house is great. I mean, it's pretty unbelievable, to be honest," Marissa recently told The Daily Dish. "I love my home in London. I built our home in London. But this house in L.A. is enormous. We have a huge backyard, we have a beautiful view, we've got a big pool."

 That backyard also includes one of the best parts of the abode, according to Marissa. "I think my favorite part in our house in L.A. is the kids have this kids' clubhouse with swings and slides and all of this stuff," she gushed. "And I love that, even though, OK, it's not mine, but the kids really love it. Sadie had her first swing ride on the swing in our backyard, which is pretty idyllic."

But you'll usually find Marissa and the rest of the family inside the house in one room in particular. "I love our kitchen in our house. I wrote a cookbook [An American Girl in London]. It's coming out in a few months. But sort of the kitchen for me is where family and friends always congregate. It's where I feed our children. It's sort of the informal gathering place in the house," Marissa explained. "And this kitchen in our house is enormous. We've got a huge island, we've got plenty of room for everyone to gather around. We had a party the other night, and there were, like, 40 people casually in the kitchen, which is what dreams are made of for a happy home, in my opinion."
