Malia Obama Officially Leaves the Nest for Harvard, Reportedly Makes Her Famous Parents Emotional Wrecks
While everyone was staring at the sun, a First Daughter was beginning a new chapter.
Victoria Beckham isn't the only mother of a new college student making tearful goodbyes this week, but unlike Posh Spice, Barack and Michelle Obama reportedly hid their emotional faces from paparazzi as they dropped off their daughter Malia at Harvard University on Monday.
Most Harvard freshmen were set to move into their dormitories on Tuesday, but Malia was allowed early access, according to Daily Mail, which published photos of the dropoff.
Malia, 19, graduated high school in 2015 and took a gap year, during which time she interned for the U.S. embassy in Spain and Hollywood heavyweight Harvey Weinstein. She was also a production assistant for Girls in 2015 and for the Halle Berry movie Extant in 2014. "She was fantastic, she was amazing," Halle gushed to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. "She is such a smart, beautiful young woman — well, look at who her mother and her father are, duh! She was amazing. It was kind of wild."
