How Melissa Gorga & Joe Are Dealing with Gino Getting His Driver's License & Car: "We'll See"

The RHONJ mom opened up about the major milestone happening in her teenage son's life as he prepares to become a licensed driver.

Watch out world, Gino Gorga is about to be a licensed driver. Melissa Gorga opened up about this major milestone for her son on a recent episode of her podcast, On Display with Melissa Gorga, co-hosted with her husband Joe Gorga.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Peacock and the Bravo app.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member went into detail about her eldest son's upcoming new chapter and why she is just a little terrified to be driving with him. "Gino gets his license in seven days, he turns 17 in seven days. We've been driving with him," Melissa revealed, noting that he's a little quick with the gas pedal.

Melissa and Joe have been through this before in recent years with their daughter Antonia Gorga, who received her driver's license in 2022 when she turned 17. "He's not as great of a driver as Antonia was," Melissa admitted. "She just had it. It was so easy for her."

Melissa and Joe have had conflicting opinions on how to teach Gino how to drive as well as agreeing on the perfect car for him. While Melissa said that Gino is a "great kid" and they would "never screw him over," she doesn't believe in getting a boy a fast car — even though Antonia got a Porsche for her first car.

"And I think Joe is completely ignoring me in this situation...and I do not trust him," Melissa continued.

"Whatever car Gino gets next week, I trust I'll find out when Gino finds out, and everyone else finds out, because Joe is totally like, sneaking me," she concluded. "We'll see what happens."

Melissa Gorga reveals Gino Gorga's plans for the future

First stop, the DMV; next stop, college. Melissa sat down with BravoTV.com over the summer, where she opened up about what's next for Gino, who has not started looking at colleges just yet. "So maybe next year we'll start to discuss that with Gino, but not yet," she said. "He's not sure yet."

In the meantime, Gino has been busy with Placidity Clothing, a clothing line that the current high school junior started with his friend, Matteo DeMarco. "I always said he's gonna be like, the hardest worker in the family," Melissa said of her oldest son. "He gets that from both Joe and I, but he's got it all."

"He's the one that's always gonna be five steps ahead thinking about making money, thinking about business: That's Gino so I'm very proud of him."

Melissa Gorga opens up about her sons' high school experience

It's been a busy week for the Gorgas. Just days ago, Melissa shared that she was very happy to send both Gino and Joey off to high school together.

"I love their bond and want them to stay like this forever," Melissa wrote in the caption of an Instagram post, capturing their first day of school outfits. "I literally can't believe Joey is starting high school. My baby. I love them so much."
