Luis D. Ortiz Has Made Yet Another Life-Changing Decision About His Future Involving His Family
The MDLNY agent, daughter Leela, and co-parent Nikita are ready for their next chapter.
And just like that, in the Season 8 finale of Million Dollar Listing New York, Luis D. Ortiz was ready to make a change once again.
In the October 31 episode, the new dad made another major decision about his life. Sitting down with his co-parent Nikita at a bash attended by all the MDLNY daddies and their families, he revealed that the two of them would move to his former home Puerto Rico to raise their daughter, Leela, who was born in March (clip above). "It's happening. In my head, we're already there," Nikita tells him about their decision to step away from life in NYC.
In an interview, Luis shared more about why he felt this was the right move for his family.
"I know you guys have gotten used to seeing me again. I've gotten used to speaking to you again, but I'm moving to Puerto Rico," he said, referencing his return to real estate, NYC, and MDLNY this season after stepping away previously.
"I'm moving to my hometown with Leela and her mother. Why? Because when I brought Leela to Puerto Rico, I saw her face and I saw her energy. We're gonna try for a year, maybe two years, and just focus every minute on this baby girl... Two years ago, I left to find myself. Now I am driven by a real purpose and this time I'm not scared because it's reassuring, the realization that I finally arrived in a place of substance. Oh, Leela, you changed my life. You saved my life."
Back at the party, Nikita also seemed ready for this chapter, telling Luis, "Let's give it a shot."
And, yes, Luis is more than aware of how much life has changed for him as of late. "If you were to ask me, six months ago or a year ago, I would have never, ever, ever imagined of this day. I went through a tough time, but you just got to be patient. You just got to let time unfold itself. It shows you that everything is going to be all right," he said in interview.
Since then, Luis has offered glimpses of their life in Puerto Rico on Instagram. And we're happy to report the family seems to have adjusted nicely to their new sunny existence there.
