Crystal Kung Minkoff Explains Why She Said She Didn't Know Dorit Kemsley on RHOBH

Crystal Kung Minkoff got to know the women of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in a major way when Dorit Kemsley invited everyone over for a get-together at her house in the Season 11 premiere. But when a producer asked Crystal in an interview during the episode if she knew Dorit, the RHOBH newcomer simply said "no."

During Crystal's appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on June 23, one fan wanted to know "if Dorit ever talked to you privately" since the viewer felt like the RHOBH newcomer had "shaded her by saying you didn't know her." "Yeah, I actually called her, 'cause the question was really had I met her before," Crystal explained during the WWHL After Show in the above clip, noting that she knew Dorit from watching RHOBH but had "never met her before."

Of course, Crystal has now met and spent a lot of time with Dorit this season of RHOBH, and the two have formed a much stronger bond than just knowing each other. "I love Dorit and her family, genuinely," Crystal shared. "She knows that."

Crystal has even found herself at the center of some of Dorit's drama this season. On the flight back home from the girls' trip to Lake Tahoe, Dorit got upset with Kyle Richards after she thought she had interrupted her conversation with Crystal. Kyle told Dorit that she was also not happy with the way she spoke to her on the plane. This incident caused a strain in their friendship that got even more tense during Kyle's election night party.

Seeing as how she was part of the incident that really kicked off this conflict between Dorit and Kyle, Crystal was asked by a member of WWHL's virtual audience to weigh in and share whose side she was on. "I actually think their fight is slightly trivial. I'm gonna say that. You guys are real friends. Like, there's a real sisterhood to you guys," Crystal explained during the WWHL After Show. "And so, as sisters do — I don't have a sister, but as sisters do — I think they fight over little things. So, no, I think that, genuinely, it's like sisters bicker, from what I can imagine."

So, Crystal is rooting for both Dorit and Kyle in this situation. "And I love seeing their friendship. It really is real, and there's no sides," she said. "They're sisters, and they're gonna fight, and they're gonna fight again tomorrow, because that's what they do, because they're real family."

Kyle, who was sitting in the in-person Clubhouse audience during this episode of WWHL, nodded her head in agreement with everything Crystal was saying. In fact, after their election night disagreement aired on RHOBH, Kyle said of Dorit on Twitter, "This was not a fight worth breaking a friendship over."
