Kate Chastain Just Started a Whole New Beef When She Reunited with Rocky Dakota
Things got awkward during Below Deck's 100th episode celebration on WWHL.
Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen headed into choppy waters during its celebration of Below Deck's 100th episode on January 6 when things got a bit tense between Kate Chastain and Rocky Dakota in the Clubhouse.
Though the stews didn't end Below Deck Season 3 in the best place, to put it mildly, they actually gave each other a warm welcome when they reunited during WWHL, even sharing a fist bump as they sat down on the couch with Ben Robinson in between them.
However, things notably took a turn as Rocky reflected on her time on Below Deck, as you can see in the above clip. When host Andy Cohen asked Rocky to name her favorite Below Deck moments, Kate chimed in, "Jumping off the boat was iconic. You're a legend. You're not the best yachtie, but you are so entertaining and so talented. I could never dive like you, I could never swim like you, you're so talented."
Rocky didn't exactly take that as a compliment. "And how come you say I'm not the best yachtie?" she asked Kate, who answered, "Because you jumped off the boat in your underwear. Do you like it? Are you still doing it? You could be, I don't know. At the time, you didn't seem to love it."
Rocky then explained why it seemed like she wasn't so suited for the third stew position in Season 3. "Well, I went to culinary school and thought I was gonna be the sous chef, and then I was the third-ranking stew, the lowest ranking cleaning lady. I never cleaned a yacht in my life," she said. "So why would I like cleaning a yacht if I was planning on being a sous chef?"
Kate was taken aback by Rocky's reaction to her comment. "This really took a turn I did not expect," Kate said. "I really think you're amazing!"
Rocky replied, "Well, when you say something negative, then I just want to know where it's coming from."
Kate clarified that she felt like Rocky wasn't "the best yachtie" because of that aforementioned plunge off the yacht. "I thought I was gonna quit. I was trying to quit. I was trying to leave," Rocky said of the unforgettable Below Deck moment. "Boom, you fired my best friend [Leon Walker]. Boom, I'm out of there."
"That's a very valid point," Kate said in response.
Captain Lee Rosbach remarked during their back-and-forth that it felt like "déjà vu" seeing the stews go at it.
Kate and Rocky ended things there during the show. Later on during the WWHL After Show, Rocky said that, despite all of the drama, she will always look back on her time on Below Deck fondly. "I don't regret the show," she said. "Overall, I thought it was just like a great experience. And I grew a lot, and I learned a lot, and I'm happy that I did it."
