Kandi Burruss Celebrates Daughter Riley on Postponed Graduation Day: "I Am So Proud"
The RHOA daughter’s high school graduation was delayed amid coronavirus concerns.
Like many high school seniors around the country, Kandi Burruss’ daughter Riley Burruss had her graduation postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. But while the official ceremony may be delayed, Kandi isn’t letting that stop her from celebrating her eldest child. The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member marked the meaningful date by sending a heartfelt message to Riley on Instagram.
In an Instagram post shared on May 9, Kandi congratulated the soon-to-be college freshman on all of her accomplishments over the last year. “Today was the day my baby @rileyburruss was supposed get her diploma,” the mom of three wrote alongside a photo of Riley’s stunning senior portrait. “Unfortunately because of the quarantine the graduation has been postponed but I still want to congratulate my baby & let her know I am sooooo proud of her!”
Kandi went on to add, “This is the start of a new chapter & so many more major accomplishments to come. Congratulations @rileyburruss & the class of 2020!”
Though the end of Riley’s senior year turned out differently than she may have expected, she certainly has plenty to look forward to. The RHOA daughter is headed to her first-choice college, New York University, as she confirmed back in December.
"Well, I feel ecstatic," Riley said shortly after she was accepted to NYU late last year. "I mean, it was the only school I really even wanted to go to. I only even thought of applying to other schools as backup plans. That was the only school in my mind. So just to see that I got in and it's for sure and I can just go and be on my path, I'm very excited."
