Does Joe Gorga Regret Burning Teresa Giudice’s Housewarming Card? Well, He Says...

The Real Housewives of New Jersey husband isn't losing sleep over his drama with his estranged sister, Teresa Giudice.

By Casey Suglia

Teresa Giudice's relationship with brother, Joe Gorga, has not been in a great place throughout Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Teresa and Joe's wife, Melissa Gorga, are not speaking and that has reflected in the relationship between the siblings. This became apparent when Teresa sent Joe and Melissa a housewarming gift — a bottle of liquor and a card — in Season 14 Episode 7 and Joe burned the card at his housewarming party without reading it.

How to Watch

Joe noted during the episode that the present was "definitely not an olive branch." An olive branch, he said, would be a "knock on my door when no one's there, and come and see me!"

But, Teresa told producers in Season 14, Episode 8, that she was "not at all surprised" that Joe burned the card. "My brother's very petty," she said.

Melissa appeared as a guest on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday, July 28, while Joe sat in the audience. But, host Andy Cohen, had one question directed to Joe — did he regret not opening and burning the card?

Joe simply shook his head. "I do not," he said.

"Yeah, I had a feeling," Andy replied.

What did Teresa Giudice's card to Joe Gorga say?

During Season 14, Episode 8, Teresa told her friends what the card to Joe said. The simple message, however, according to Teresa, was her husband, Luis "Louie" Ruelas' idea.

"I mean, the only thing that was in the card was 'Congratulations on your new home. Love, Louie and Teresa,'" she said. "Like, it wasn't an olive branch, it was a gesture."

Teresa continued, talking about Louie's involvement in the card with the producers. "I'm not gonna take credit for that; I don't wanna take the credit for that," she said. "That was all my husband."

"I really didn't want to send it 'cause I'm not kissing anybody's ass, I don't want to make up with him," she said. "[Louie] is like, 'Babe, it's a nice gesture,' and I'm like, 'OK, fine.'"

Where Melissa and Joe Gorga Stand with Teresa Giudice Today

During that same WWHL appearance on July 28, it was revealed that peace between the siblings might be lost at this point — especially as long as Teresa's husband is involved. Andy asked Melissa to agree or disagree with the following statement: "Had Louie never entered the picture, there would be peace between Teresa and the Gorgas."

Melissa agreed with this. "Fake peace, but peace," she admitted while Joe nodded his head with affirmation from the audience.

Melissa also told Andy that she does not see any future where she will have a relationship with Teresa. She noted that her favorite part of Season 14 has been how "free" she feels.

"I don't feel the pressure anymore to accept things I didn't feel were right, or to keep moving forward with something that was at a complete dead end," she explained. "Having zero guilt any longer and knowing I've done the right thing for as long as I could is definitely my rose."
