Jill Zarin Just Revealed More Info About Her Mysterious First Husband
The Real Housewives of New York City alum observed her first wedding anniversary with Ally Shapiro's father.
Jill Zarin's husband, Bobby Zarin, passed away earlier this year after a battle with cancer, and The Real Housewives of New York City alum has been remembering him in social media posts since. On December 12, she also paid tribute to another man in her life, her first husband, Steven Shapiro, the father of her only child, Ally Shapiro. She posted a photo from their wedding on Instagram and wrote, "Happy 31[st] Anniversary [Steven Shapiro]! Thank you for giving me our beautiful daughter and being the best 1st husband A girl could ask for! Lol! To 31 more!"
Jill previously told The Daily Dish that she and her ex-husband, Steven, were married for about a decade and divorced more than 20 years ago. The two have a great relationship today, and Jill even said that Steven probably would have come on RHONY if he had the chance. "Well, Steven would have come on the show. It's just that we never got that far filming. My ex-husband totally would have come on the show; at least he would now. I mean, I don't know about then. I think he would have then," Jill said. "But Steven would have come on the show with Ally if it would [help] Ally. Anything that would help me or Ally, he would totally do. We are still the best of friends."
Steven, who owns the NYC Seminar and Conference Center located in the Chelsea/Flatiron neighborhood of Manhattan, is also the father of three more children with another ex-wife. Jill said that she remains close to his family.
"He's checked in on me a lot since Bobby passed and came to the funeral and came to the shiva, and his parents came," she said, adding that she still calls his parents "Mom and Dad."
"I love his parents, and that's the way it should be. Why isn't it? Divorce is a legal term, but you can't divorce your children... Steven and I always put Ally first — that was our deal," Jill shared.
