Jax Taylor Sets the Record Straight on Recent Court Document “Errors”
The Valley's Jax Taylor released a statement about how he "made errors" when filling out paperwork for his divorce from Brittany Cartwright.
Jax Taylor is setting the record straight about a recent court filing pertaining to his divorce from Brittany Cartwright.
The Valley cast member had responded to Brittany's August divorce filing on Sept. 26, and per E! News, he appeared to fill out documents indicating that Brittany would get sole legal and physical custody of their son, Cruz Michael Cauchi. In another portion of the document, Jax indicated that he was never legally married to the Kentucky native.
Now, a representative for Jax is clearing things up.
"Jax and Brittany have already long resolved all matters related to custody of Cruz, and will continue to work together privately for the best interest of their son, which remains their overriding concern," Jax's rep said in a statement to The Daily Dish. "While Jax made errors in filling out forms that are usually done by trained legal professionals, those errors will be amended without delay."
Are Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright legally married?
Though Jax's paperwork appeared to show that he had never legally wed Brittany, both Brittany and The Valley couple's wedding officiant, Lance Bass, have confirmed that the two were indeed married.
"We are legally married..." Brittany wrote in an Instagram comment under a news headline about Jax's paperwork.
Lance, who served as Jax and Brittany's officiant when the Vanderpump Rules alums exchanged vows at a Kentucky castle in 2019, backed Brittany's statement up.
"[Brittany,] I can confirm this. Pastor Lance signed the papers," the NSYNC singer commented.

Brittany announced the couple's separation during the February 29 episode of her and Jax's podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany.
"Jax and I are taking time apart..." she said on the show. "I won’t get into too many details right now because this is still very hard to talk about and I’m taking things one day at a time."
Brittany added, "I don’t know what the future holds, but right now, my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz. I love you guys. Pray for us. And everything will be just fine."
