Ellie Dubaich Slams Aesha for “Discarding” Her After Carrie's Hire: “Quite Hurtful”

Ellie Dubaich and Aesha Scott shed new light on their complicated dynamic during the Below Deck Mediterranean After Show.

By Sophie Vilensky

Although the Below Deck Mediterranean charter season is winding down, tension between Elena "Ellie" Dubaich and Aesha Scott is only heating up.

As Ellie explained in the Below Deck Mediterranean After Show video above, she wasn't pleased with how she felt her dynamic with Aesha changed after new stew Carrie O'Neill joined the Mustique crew.

"The way Aesha was treating me towards the end was quite hurtful," Ellie said, later elaborating even further. "I felt like I stood on my head the entire season to please Aesha. I respected her, I valued her opinion a lot, and it meant the world to me to impress her... So for her to kind of discard me in the end, without having enough respect for me to just ask me first, to try to communicate first, allow me to explain, it really, really hurt."

Aesha Scott explains her frustrations with Ellie Dubaich

In her own After Show interview, Aesha reflected on the moment she told Ellie during Below Deck Med Season 9, Episode 16 that she was "overstepping" as the second stew. One example, according to Aesha: she'd sent Carrie on a job only for Ellie to radio her and ask her to come take down decorations.

"Who are you to be designating jobs to my floater when I'm on the floor?" Aesha asked. "What are you up to?"

Aesha's breaking point apparently came when they were clearing dinner and Ellie radio'd Chef Johnathan "Jono" Shillingford to give him an update, despite the fact that Aesha had already done exactly that.

"It just made my blood boil," Aesha said.

Ellie had a different perspective on the matter.

"I never intentionally overstepped," said Ellie in her After Show interview. "If anything, this entire season I've tried my best to not overstep."

Some examples she gave: Whenever they worked service for guests, Ellie was sure to never walk in front of Aesha. "I've always given her respect that she is the lead," she said.

However, Ellie admitted that toward the end of charter, her mouth was just "unhinged."

"It was like, completely unhinged running in the minefield," she added. "My brain was on like a 20-second delay running behind it trying to pull it back in."

Specifically referencing the moment when she radio'd Chef Jono, Ellie said, "I blurted it out. I really did. And I immediately apologized. As soon as I walked by Aesha, I said I was sorry."

In general, Ellie clarified, "If I was calling the girls to come and help me at any point, I was just asking if there was somebody available to help. I never meant it to sound like, 'Oh, stop doing what Aesha said and come do what I said.'"

Carrie O'Neill and Bri Muller React to Aesha Scott & Ellie Dubaich's Drama

Carrie and Bri Muller also chimed in on the situation on the Below Deck Med After Show.

"[Ellie] definitely told me what to do a few times," said Carrie. "But I did try really hard to let it go over my head. You know, obviously, if Aesha was asking me to do a job I'm going to listen to Aesha over Ellie."

Bri noted that, from her perspective, it seemed Aesha was so busy with other things that she felt comfortable confiding in Ellie and asking what needed to be done. To each their own!
