Elaine Welteroth Is Expecting Her First Child

Elaine Welteroth is about to add a new title to her already-impressive resume: mom. The Bravo's Project Runway judge announced that she is expecting her first child on Instagram on October 11.

Elaine confirmed the happy news in a post on Instagram with the caption, "New creative collab with @jonathansingletary dropping spring 2022 #JesusTookTheWheel." The post featured a video montage of the lovely moments Elaine and husband Jonathan Singletary experienced over the past year-and-a-half, including their wedding in May 2020, the couple's move to Los Angeles, and, of course, the moment they found out they were going to be parents.

The video then showed more of Elaine's pregnancy journey, including her growing baby bump, Jonathan's prep to become a dad, and visits to the doctor to see their little one via ultrasound. After seeing the sonogram of their child, Elaine remarked, "This baby looks exactly like Jonathan."

It's also noted in the video that Elaine's "maternity shoot is gonna be so chic!" Of course, we wouldn't expect anything less from the Project Runway judge.

To top it all off, Jonathan, who is a musician, added a sweet touch to the clip, providing an original lullaby that is the soundtrack to the pregnancy announcement, according to Elaine's Instagram post.

Elaine also opened up about sharing her pregnancy news in a statement to PEOPLE. "I'm so excited to finally share the excitement with our friends and extended community. It's been so hard to keep this a secret!" she said. "I'm just excited to learn more about what this new life is here to teach us. I'm already learning so much from this experience. We are both excited to experience new levels of love."

She also shared what it was like experiencing the moment she learned that she would become a mom for the first time. "We always knew — God willing — that one day we would be parents, but no one talks about what it's like when that one day becomes today. Even with a husband, a house and a career, somehow I still didn't feel quite ready or adult enough to be somebody's mom," Elaine told PEOPLE. "But there's nothing that compares to the blessing of the moment you hear that little heartbeat — it changes everything. You just surrender to God's plan and divine timing."

The couple wed in May 2020 after several years of dating. They originally met through church as teens while growing up in Northern California and later reconnected as adults in 2013, according to Vogue.
