Drew Sidora Shares the Real Reason for Her and Ralph Pittman’s Divorce and Where They Stand Today
The RHOA cast member also set the record straight on why she and Ralph *both* filed for divorce.
It’s been almost four months since Drew Sidora and Ralph Pittman filed for divorce after nearly a decade of marriage, and now The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member is opening up about what led to their split, as well as where they stand today.
How Drew Is Holding Up Amid Her Divorce
Speaking to BravoTV.com, Drew said she’s simply “taking it one day a time.”
That and “going through the process,” she added. “It’s a long process. And I’ve never been through anything like this before.”
Why Drew and Ralph Are Getting a Divorce
Drew appeared on the June 25 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she was asked about the reason she and Ralph are going their separate ways.
A “Breaking Point”
“I think it was a culmination of just the years of enduring and enduring. And as a wife, you know, my parents have been married for 60 years, so I only saw two people who loved each other and constantly fought for their marriage. That’s how I was raised,” Drew explained. “But I think at a point when it’s public humiliation and dealing with things that are now coming out in front of the camera, it was a breaking point that I reached.”
Alleged Infidelity
Andy asked if Drew thought Ralph was “faithful” to her throughout their marriage, but she revealed that she didn’t have to think — she apparently knows. More specifically, when responding to Andy, she said, “I know that wasn’t the case.”
Why Drew and Ralph Both Filed for Divorce
As Andy pointed out, a “rumor” has been circulating about Drew and Ralph “racing to the courthouse to be the first to file” for divorce.
Asked if there’s any “truth” to said rumor, Drew responded, “Oh lord, it wasn’t a race. I got to a point where enough was enough, and once he caught wind that I was planning to file, then it became [a race]. I don’t know if that’s deflection or trying to change the narrative, but…”
Where Drew and Ralph Stand Today
When it comes to Drew’s current communication with Ralph, she said it’s “nonexistent” except for when it comes to “the kids.” The former couple are parents to son Machai and daughter Aniya, and Drew also has an 11-year-old son, Josiah, from a previous relationship.
“I think through this process I’ve really just tried to protect the kids in everything,” Drew said.
What’s Next for Drew and Ralph
Looking to the future, Drew said in a recent interview with People that she’s “hoping for a great co-parenting partner.”
What’s more, “I’m hoping for us to come out of this and be able to be friends and be respectful,” she continued. “I’m hoping for my kids to be happy and just to really see what life has for me on the other side of all this. It’s hard to imagine right now, but I would love to just be completely whole moving forward.”
In the meantime, Drew is using her creative outlet to express her feelings. More specifically, she’s making new music — and some songs are “reflective of what I’m going through right now in my personal life,” she told BravoTV.com. “My music is really my therapy. It’s been my release, I guess, to be able to get all my emotions out.”
Drew also has a great support system in her family. Her sister Allison paid her a visit during Episode 8 of RHOA Season 15, which aired June 25 — something that Drew said on WWHL was “a huge deal because she had never been to Atlanta.”
Allison also accompanied Drew to her music video shoot, which, as Andy pointed out, “had to be hard for her” since she had spent years as Drew’s manager, though that’s no longer the case.
“It was [hard],” Drew admitted. “I was a little worried, but I was happy that she was there to be on the journey with me. And it was very profound. It really was.”
