Dr. Heavenly Shares an Update on Her Daughter's Life at College: "Brains and Beauty"
The Married to Medicine mom reveals how her daughter is adjusting to life as a college freshman.
Dr. Heavenly Kimes has a lot to be proud of. From her successful dental practice to being on Married to Medicine, the dentist has so much to show for her storied career.
But there is no one that Heavenly is more proud of than her daughter, Alaura Kimes. The college freshman is in her first year of school, and according to her Instagram account, she seems to be thriving. The mom of three seems to think so, too, taking to her own personal Instagram account to share an update on her daughter's life at college.
Dr. Heavenly shared a photo of Alaura, looking away from the camera, wearing a casual outfit, posing with her hands in the shape of a peace sign against a formal blue background. Although the photo doesn't show Alaura in a college setting, hanging out with her friends, or studying, it doesn't matter. She looks so happy, and Heavenly seems to agree.
"My college girl!" Heavenly wrote in the caption of the post. "[Alaura] I'm soo proud of you! [Florida A&M University] Rattlers class of 2026."
She added a few other notable hashtags, including, "biology major," "[Doctor of Dental Surgery to] be," "proud mom," and "brains and beauty."
Dr. Heavenly Kimes' daughter, Alaura, is flourishing in college
Alaura is attending Florida A&M University, which is the same place where Heavenly earned her bachelor's degree. In May, Heavenly confirmed that Alaura is planning on pursuing a biology pre-med degree, following in her mom and dad's footsteps.
Heavenly is obviously over the moon about this, even showing her enthusiasm while fully decked out in a FAMU outfit for Alaura's move in day in August. But, Alaura is Heavenly's baby and having their last child leave the house hasn't been easy for her, she told The Daily Dish in November.
"I mean, I hated to see her go, but I love to see her flourish," she said. "I had to let her go, you know, and she's gonna accomplish everything in her dreams. That's my baby girl and that's probably the single, most difficult thing I've ever done in my life, letting my daughter go away from me, after knowing where she is every second of every day until now."
Heavenly and Damon Kimes are now empty nesters
As previously stated, Heavenly and her husband, Dr. Damon Kimes have officially emptied their nest now that all three of their children are gone from the house. But, Heavenly and Damon's marriage is stronger than ever. The couple recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary and Heavenly can't wait to celebrate even more anniversaries together.
"I can honestly say we treat each other with the [utmost] respect and we uplift each other!," Heavenly wrote in the caption of an Instagram post celebrating their anniversary from August. "Damon makes me feel like I can do anything."
"I can't tell you how much I love this man," she added. "He lifts me up when I'm down. He makes me happy when I'm sad. He makes me feel like everything will be ok! I feel safe with him. Here's to the next 26 years [and] beyond. Happy anniversary Daddy!"
