D'Andra Simmons' Mother Mama Dee Is Celebrating Her 80th Birthday
The Real Housewives of Dallas cast member opened up about her relationship with her mom in a heartfelt post.
It’s a big occasion for the Simmons family! The Real Housewives of Dallas cast member D’Andra Simmons recently shared a few of her favorite memories in honor of mother Mama Dee’s 80th birthday in a February 22 Instagram post.
“Happy 80th birthday to my mom! You are the reason for so many of the achievements in my life, and I am so glad we have been able to share almost 52 years together on this earth,” D’Andra wrote in a heartfelt caption alongside a slideshow of some of their sweetest moments.
D’Andra also used the post as an opportunity to get super real about their relationship, writing, “We have had our ups and downs, our feuds, and our sincere moments of remorse for actions we regretfully chose in the heat of the moment—we both have big mouths and big opinions!”
“We realize that a mother-daughter relationship is fraught with real life issues, especially when there are two strong personalities. We are both stubborn, opinionated women that always say what we think, but we love each other to the moon and back,” D'Andra continued. “You have made me successful, forthright, driven to succeed and passionate with a purpose. You showed me the example of a strong work ethic and being grateful for what we have at ALL times. You taught me to help others in need, because ‘to that whom much is given, much is required.’ So many of my redeeming qualities are derived from your advice and guidance to live life on your terms, but always keeping others in mind when making important decisions.”
RHOD newcomer Tiffany Moon also wished Mama Dee a happy birthday in a heartfelt Instagram post, writing, “Happy 80th birthday to my ‘other Momma.’ Thank you for all your guidance, love, and encouragement throughout the years. Wishing you a very happy 80th and can’t wait to see you soon!!”
Although D’Andra shared her plans to celebrate Mama Dee’s birthday “in style after the pandemic and natural disasters have calmed,” the birthday girl did share a snapshot to mark the occasion. “Momma Dee and D’Andra celebrating my 80th,” she wrote alongside a photo of she and D’Andra looking fabulous.
