Brynn Whitfield Shares Real Reason For Her New Apartment: “I’m Expanding My Family”
Brynn Whitfield shows off her incredible new NYC apartment in the season premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City.
Bank on Brynn Whitfield to bring her singular brand of energy (as in, Brynn-ergy) to everything she does — including when she moves.
Back for Season 15 on Tuesday, Oct. 1, The Real Housewives of New York City began with a look at Brynn’s new apartment in Manhattan, a change of address that was a necessity, she explained.
“I have a new apartment,” she said, while negotiating with deliverymen. “I left the West Village, and I migrated to Gramercy Park. I needed a bigger space because I’m expanding my family.”
Brynn knows the art of the tease. After a brief pause, she got real.
“Sugar, c’mere,” she said. “I’ve had a baby. It’s a puppy.”
That’s when her adorable pooch, Sugar, came into view in Brynn’s airy two-bedroom home.
“It’s really hard being a hot single dog mom,” she then joked in RHONY Episode 1 to her brother, Daris, who’d arrived for a visit.
He was the one who toured the apartment and shared images of it with her while she was abroad, according to an Architectural Digest feature about the apartment.

Brynn Whitfield now lives in the Gramercy Park neighborhood of New York City.
While Brynn’s previous landlord nixed filming at her home, cameras are welcome at her new apartment. Between the rich wall colors, stylish furniture, and eclectic art, the place is ready for its closeup.
The same goes for Gramercy Park, a charming tree-lined neighborhood centered around a private park. With its blend of history, green space, and community vibe, Gramercy Park is a coveted NYC oasis.
As Daris took stock of the décor and furnishings, Brynn said, “I know you don’t want to hear this because you’re my brother, but my design inspiration was ‘balls in your face.’”
But Brynn was serious. The camera focused on globe light fixtures, round table legs, and other ball-shaped appointments, proving her point.
“You really went for it,” said Daris.
“I really did,” she laughed.
Brynn’s ever-carefree attitude is tempered by early life experience, a topic that came up last season on RHONY.
“I have so many deep traumatic associations with home…. I came from Section 8 housing and welfare,” Brynn told Architectural Digest. “I’ve gone out of my way to make sure that I would have the exact opposite experience as an adult and love my home and be proud of it, not ashamed.”
Who is Brynn Whitfield's new puppy?
Brynn’s move wasn’t the only recent major event in her life. In February, she posted on Instagram: “Froze my eggs, and now got a puppy. One month in, and I’ve already completed all my 2024 goals ;) Everybody: Meet Sugar!!!”
In a March 23 follow-up post on National Puppy Day, she wrote alongside a baby picture of her English Springe Spaniel Sugar: “This was only five weeks ago, and I already miss her being this tiny.”
The American Kennel Club describes this breed as a “sweet-faced, lovable bird dog of great energy, stamina, and brains.”
The adorable pup is black and white, totally cute, and goes with everything in Brynn’s new apartment.
