Brittany Cartwright & Jax Taylor Reunite for Their Son's 3rd Birthday Bash (PICS)
The Valley couple treated their son, Cruz, to an epic dinosaur-themed party amid their separation.
It was a dino-mite reunion for Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright.
The estranged couple came together over the weekend to throw an epic 3rd birthday bash for their son, Cruz Michael Cauchi. Brittany teased the celebration in a recent interview with People magazine, revealing her little boy’s party would be hosted at the Sky Zone trampoline park near Los Angeles.
“Cruz just absolutely loves that trampoline park, so it’s going to be cute,” The Valley mom told the outlet. “He loves dinosaurs, so I want it to be very jungle-like.”
Brittany and Jax go all out on Cruz's birthday party
On Saturday, April 13, Brittany and Jax shared several peeks at Cruz’s dinosaur-themed party. And, yes, it was as cute as you probably imagined. The couple secured a private room that was decked out with elaborate decorations that went heavy on the prehistoric vibes. A colorful balloon wall was adorned with dinosaur footprints, faux greenery, and a massive sign that read: “3-Rex on the Loose!”

Jax shared a quick video of Cruz standing before the balloon wall while enjoying a pre-party snack. “Happy birthday buddy!” the Vanderpump Rules alum told his little boy, who was rocking a dino-patterned button-up.
Jax then provided a peek at the party’s incredible tablescape, which featured a leaf petal cover, a row of floral centerpieces, dinosaur-themed dishes, as well as several dessert stands with customized treats. (The macrons were by Boy Mama Bakes while the decorative sugar cookies were from Baked by Ang.)
See Cruz's adorable birthday cake... before it smashed on the floor
One of the biggest highlights, however, was Cruz’s three-tiered cake by The Gateaux Shoppe Bakery in Anaheim Hills. The piece was decorated with white and blue frosting, a handful of dinosaur cutouts, faux leaves, as well as the words “Cruz” and “3-Rex” written on the tiers. The cake was quite adorable and delicious-looking, but unfortunately for guests, most of it went to waste.
A video shared by The Valley's Zack Wickham captured the exact moment Cruz’s cake toppled over before anyone got a taste. The clip showed Brittany standing before the cake with Cruz in her arms and Jax by her side — presumably after attendees sang “Happy Birthday.” The husband and wife then leaned into the cake to blow out the candle just seconds before the table collapsed on one side. The cake then smashed into the ground, prompting a collective gasp within the room. (Check out the chaotic scene in the second slide below.)
“Never a dull moment,” Zack captioned the video, which showed Jax and Brittany laughing off the mishap.
According to E! News, the event was decorated by Glitz and Gather and planned by Picnic + Petal.
“We use [Picnic + Petal] for all our events,” Jax captioned another Instagram Story, “and they always knock it out of the park for us.”
Party guests included The Valley's Michelle Lally and Nia Booko as well as Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’ daughter, Summer Moon.
Brittany and Jax celebrate their son's 3rd birthday at the aquarium
April 12 marked Cruz’s actual birthday, which he celebrated alongside his mom and dad. The family spent the special day at the Long Beach Aquarium, where they watched some aquatic life and enjoyed a casual lunch.
“All his favorite things for his bday,” Jax captioned a video of Cruz munching on chicken tenders and fries.
Brittany on Co-Parenting with Jax Amid Their Separation
The celebration came less than a month after Brittany confirmed she and Jax were "taking time apart" after four years of marriage. Although they’re now living in separate homes, the husband and wife have managed to maintain a cordial relationship for their son.
“We’re doing a really good job going back and forth,” Brittany told People magazine about co-parenting with Jax. “And I’ll also take him to the house and play and we’ll swim one day or have him play on his play set and we’ll do different things.”
She continued: “Jax will take him to Sky Zone, or he’ll take him to the park one day. But that’s the most important thing. So I think it’s honestly been better because we aren’t fighting in front of him. And for me, I think that’s what is most important, right now. Because that’s why I had to get him out of that situation in the first place.”
