Brandi Redmond Calls Daughter Brooklyn a "Blessing" After Receiving "Hurtful" Comments
"As I’m writing this I’m in tears," The Real Housewives of Dallas mom shared in her message.
Brandi Redmond has let us into all of the triumphs and tribulations of her life over the past four seasons of The Real Housewives of Dallas, from her friendship drama to issues in her marriage with husband Bryan Redmond.
This season of RHOD is no exception. Brandi has been sharing her very relatable struggles of parenting her daughter Brooklyn as she gets a little sassy while entering her tweenage years (clip above).
But sometimes being so vulnerable comes with a cost. Apparently, some RHOD fans have had something to say about Brooklyn and Brandi's parenting — and it hasn't all been nice.
Brandi praised the wonderful little girl she has for a daughter in an Instagram post on Thursday, September 12. "I have to share what I’m feeling to get this off my chest....This is my baby girl," Brandi captioned a precious photo of Brooklyn with her baby brother, Bruin. "She is kind, loving, sweet and one of the smartest kids I’ve ever known. She is the first in our family that wants to bring everyone together. She’s the best big sister to [siblings] Bruin [and] Brinkley."
The RHOD mom also addressed the criticism she has received so far this season. "As I’m writing this I’m in tears. You can say anything you want to about me but not children. Who knew so many people could be so hurtful and judgmental. I don’t always get the parenting thing right and children are not always perfect but my love for my children is undeniable," Brandi wrote. "Those who truly know my family know Brooklyn. She’s a blessing. Thank you for watching and to those of you who can relate, sending. Those who’ve got this all figured out, where is your NY Times Best Seller?"
Brandi has already received support from LeeAnne Locken, who told her to "ignore the haters" in the comments to her Instagram post. Mom of seven Braunwyn Windham-Burke also came to Brandi's defense on Instagram. "What works for one [mom] won’t work for another, I also know that having a camera crew is like when you’re on the phone times 100! Kids get nervous and want your attention (even my 19 year old apologized after filming one day because her behavior was so unexpected)," The Real Housewives of Orange County newcomer shared in the comments to Brandi's Instagram post. "I haven’t met your daughter, but from what I saw she was strong and independent, 2 qualities I wish I had more of!!! You’re doing great!"
We think Brandi is doing great, too.
Check out what's coming up for Brandi and the rest of the RHOD crew in an all-new episode Wednesday at 9/8c, below.
