Ellie Is at a Loss for Words After Aesha's "Real Yachtie" Remark: “What Do You Want From Me?”

Below Deck Mediterranean's Elena "Ellie" Dubaich and Aesha Scott both unpacked the latter's "real yachtie" comment on the After Show.

Elena "Ellie" Dubaich was not happy to hear Aesha Scott call Carrie O'Neill "a real yachtie" on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9, Episode 15 (which aired Sept. 9).

The stew revealed as much on the subsequent episode of the Below Deck Mediterranean After Show, where fans are treated to a weekly unfiltered take on the drama from each episode. As Ellie put it while reflecting on Aesha's remark, "I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean honestly. What do you want from me anymore, at this point?! I've done everything. You know, I've done every single thing."

"Like, how am I not a 'real yachtie'?" she continued. "I've been on so many yachts, I have experience, I've been busting my ass here the entire season. Like, in what sense am I not a real yachtie? What are you talking about?"

Ellie went on to highlight her past work experience, explaining on the Below Deck Med After Show, "I had worked on large vessels, and in yachting that means very high standards, because the larger the vessel, the more wealthy the owner, and the higher the status, right? And I take great pride in it."

"So, if the standards needed to be somewhat adapted to the time restraints we had without affecting the guests' experience, that's just the nature of the job we were in with the time restrictions we had," Ellie continued while reflecting on the charter season. "We didn't have the time to Q-tip every little corner or detail every single little thing. All we had time to do was clean enough to make it nice and presentable for the guests."

Why did Aesha call Carrie a "real" yachtie?

On the Below Deck Med After Show, Aesha acknowledged that in making the remark about Carrie, she simply wanted to acknowledge how "f-cking cool" the new stew was.

"She comes in like the true yachtie that she is and she doesn't give two sh-ts about the drama, about the hierarchy, about any personal business," Aesha said of Carrie. "She gets her head down and she gets stuck in and she does her job."

Aesha continued: "The thing is with Carrie is I was like, 'Oh my gosh, you're going to do your job and I don't have to give you, like, 50 compliments a time to get you to get your ass into gear? You're just gonna do it? You're capable, you don't need compliments? You're, like a yachtie! You're someone that's gonna do your job! Wow, thank you!'"
