Ashley Darby's Husband Michael Darby Is Giving up Something Major During Her Pregnancy
The Real Housewives of Potomac mom-to-be shared "a moment of appreciation" for her husband, Michael Darby.
Ashley Darby's husband, Michael Darby, is making a major sacrifice during her pregnancy. The Real Housewives of Potomac hubby has decided to give up alcohol in solidarity with his wife as she prepares to welcome their first child together this July.
Ashley took time to praise her husband for showing his support in such a big way in a touching post on Instagram on April 27. "A moment of appreciation for Mickey (yes, I'm even more in love), for he has not had alcohol in over 3 months in support of our pregnancy. My taste buds have completely turned off from it, but never did I expect or even ask my husband to do the same," she shared. "Incredibly grateful for his support and commitment to our life."
Though Michael may not have always seemed the most enthusiastic about starting a family with Ashley on RHOP, he was actually the more emotional one when the couple found out they were pregnant. “I’m not the most emotional person, but I shed some tears,” Ashley said of the moment when her pregnancy test turned out to be positive during an interview with PEOPLE in February. “And then Michael started crying. And Michael, who is a very stoic person, when he cries, I start balling. It was like a share of waterworks between the two of us!”
Michael has been incredibly involved in Ashley's journey to become a mom since the couple found out they were expecting. He recently stepped in to take more than 100 photos of Ashley and Baby D in a maternity shoot after a photographer canceled last minute.
"Michael looked at me and said, don't worry babe we'll still capture the sunset. I'll take the photos. Now, my husband is quite a manly man who isn't a big fan of pictures. But without one complaint or any frustration, Michael took over 100 photos of Baby D and me. Of course I cried with appreciation and happiness," Ashley gushed on Instagram earlier this month. "We come into this life alone and we leave it alone, but we can live it together. So thankful to have found a great partner who loves and supports me. WE ALL DESERVE TO LOVE AND BE LOVED."
We'll catch up more with Ashley and Michael when RHOP returns for Season 4 on Sunday, May 5 at 9/8c. Find out more about Ashley and Michael's road to starting a family in the above video. Then, check out a sneak peek of the season premiere right now, below.
