Kathryn Dennis Shares an Emotional Update on Her Townhouse Renovation
The Southern Charm cast member revealed why she's "kind of dragging [her] feet," when it comes to updating her grandfather's former home.
On Southern Charm's October 29 Season 7 premiere, Kathryn Dennis opened up about the emotional experience of updating her home that is grounded in family history. "I'm renovating the townhouse that my grandfather left me," she said. "But I'm kind of dragging my feet because it was the last place, you know, I was with my mother."
Kathryn previously revealed she moved into the house in June 2019, just two months before her mother, Allison Calhoun Dennis, passed away from what was described by PEOPLE as an "extended illness." Months after her mom's passing, Kathryn shared that she hoped to find a new home where she could carry on her mother's traditions. “I’m looking at buying a new house next year and really, like, buying one and staying there and having one home," she told the New York Post at BravoCon. "And whenever that happens I want to host Christmas at my house because my mom always used to host it, so I’m carrying it on.”
In the meantime, as she fixed up her late grandfather's abode with the plan of moving back in, Kathryn temporarily resided with her ex at his house (which you can check out here). Although the situation would be short-lived, Kathryn shared on the episode, "I have to admit that I've gotten comfortable staying here."
