Here's Why Meghan Markle Won't Choose St. Mary's Hospital in London for Her Delivery
The Duchess of Cambridge had George, Charlotte and Louis all at the same hospital in London ... but that's not where the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly looking.
Royal watchers can't wait to see the first snaps of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's baby, who's due this spring. But some fans are equally stoked to see a potential repeat of this amazing mom-leaving-the-hospital photo, which happened for Kate Middleton some seven hours after giving birth.
But, if and when there is a photo of Meghan leaving the hospital in heels and a pert hairo, it likely won't be shot in the same location as Middleton's classic pic. Because according to some sources, the Duchess of Sussex has her own ideas about where she'll be giving birth.
As Page Six has it, the former Suits actress is considering having her child at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey. (Middleton delivered Prince Louis at St. Mary's Hospital in London.) It could just be a matter of logistics. As one source told The Daily Mail: "If their Royal Highnesses have moved to Frogmore Cottage before the birth, as planned, Frimley Park may be a more easily accessible option than St Mary’s."
A quick Internet map search shows that Frimley Park is indeed closer to Frogmore at around 15 miles away, or around 25-35 minutes driving. St. Mary's is not only further away, but driving predictions show it's typically between 50 minutes to 1.5 hours considering London traffic.
But then again, prosaic logistics don't always come into play for the royals. After Middleton gave birth, she had to adhere to protocol that included letting the queen know before anyone else that her baby had been born, and making sure that her husband was not in the delivery room.
Why do we have a feeling that Harry will most definitely be in Markle's birthing suite, possibly telling doctors: "What Meghan wants, Meghan gets?" (Probably because we read too many tabloids ... but it's a fun image.)
