Here's Everything We Know About Meghan Markle's New York City Baby Shower
The Duchess of Sussex and a few of her friends are feting the next royal baby at a chic soiree. Let's be voyeurs, shall we?
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's first baby is set to arrive this spring, just in case you haven't heard. But before she starts life as a mother, Markle has to get all that wild partying out of her system — or at least hit one more chic girls' gathering in Manhattan. Today, the duchess is doing just that, taking time out of her visit to the Big Apple to attend a baby shower with her nearest and dearest.
Here's what we know about the gathering so far:
First of all, this shower is probably not as big as Andy Cohen's. (As if!) Markle reportedly had 15 guests at her event, with friends including Priyanka Chopra, Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, and stylist Jessica Mulroney, who hosted. Page Six is reporting that the gang met at an Upper East Side hotel; some sources speculate that the location is The Mark.
Now that the event is underway, more details continue to leak. According to E! News, decorations came in pretty, pastel hues that channeled springtime, and the event space was filled with red roses and pink cherry blossoms. The mama-to-be wore a decidedly different color palette, arriving in a black coat draped over skinny black maternity jeans.
The event was planned to coincide with some of the final weeks that the very pregnant Markle is allowed to travel by plane, and has reportedly been in the works for some time. And don't worry, there will likely be another shower to come in the U.K., so we can all have a great time speculating about whether Kate Middleton will attend or not.
